In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Eastern Indigos (Drymarchon couperi): I have a few 2017’s and new clutches of 2018 Eastern Indigos available. These are handsome and well started, mostly red phases. All come from vigorous and large stock with parents exceeding 7’.

Indigo snakes are federally listed as a “threatened” species, therefore shipment outside Arizona will require an Interstate Commerce Permit administered by the USFWS. I will assist you, as needed, in the permit process. Permits are issued after submitting your application in about 6-12 weeks. I have included a link to the Interstate Commerce Permit Application below.

Permit Link: https://www.fws.gov/forms/3-200-55.pdf

NOTE: Arizona residents do not currently require permits and the Interstate Commerce Permit does not apply.

Please know your local and state laws regarding purchase and possession or Eastern Indigo snakes!!!

Price for Eastern Indigos is as follows:
2017 Yearlings: $1200.00 each
2018 Hatchlings: $1000.00 each

I will hold and nurture your indigo(s) until your permit is issued, upon receipt of a $200.00 non-refundable deposit.

References available upon request. Please feel free to contact me through Fauna Classified or email: [email protected].

Below are representatives of what the animals from my stock look like.

Regards,
Vic

I have known Vic for about 10 years and own some of the animals he has bred. They are outstanding! You always get a healthy and large animal from him. He is one of the most knowledgeable indigo breeders in the hobby. He is also an honest man, and a great breeder to do business with.

is permit hard to get for non-biologist?

NO, the Interstate Commerce Permit is in effect a Tax imposed by Congress way back and administered by the USFWS. It is tedious, an imposing stack of forms, much of which does not apply. Many breeders/sellers, and certainly me, are happy to assist you as we have been through the process before. It asks you to provide evidence you have applicable experience and know the basics of Dryamarchon care, and have adequate facility, etc. Not hard, but some answers you should consult with experienced breeder/seller prior to submitting.

Some States may have their own permits, and that is different and I am not addressing those at this time. Eastern Indigos require more effort than some to acquire, but I think worth it when you jump the hurdles...

Sometimes the first time is intimidating, but you will find it is not hard. You can do it, many have gone before you! ;)

good luck, Vic

Vic is the man to go to for some of the best Indigo's around. If anyone is considering one of these magnificent animals, he is definitely the guy to get them from.

Eve is doing awesome and growing large Vic.

I am so glad to hear that, I will never forget that little adventure... Vic

A few things to consider. Vic has outstanding animals and customer service. I have two of his ... a 15 male and a 17 female. Both are healthy and an overall phenomenal pet. Last time I applied for the FWS permit it was approved in less than a month. Leave your ball pythons and corn snakes behind... Get an indigo!!

Or keep them to feed to the indigo's :reddevil:.

Hi Vic, my name is Leo, I'm in Phoenix, and am very interested in purchasing a trio of your 2018 offspring- are you able to work with an inastallment plan?

Leo's inquiry

Dear Leo,
Thank you for your interest. Being a Arizona resident will make it easy as we do not need to comply with the Interstate Commerce Permit. I have quite a few indigos and I urge you to save for the purchase and make it happen, but I want to make it happen all at once and not do installments. IF this season does not work out, I expect to have lots more next season and I will have some interesting and promising new pairings, including some dark phases which many folks have requested. An option to consider: you might want to get them one at a time since you are not burdened with the commerce permit(s). Maybe that would make it less onerous, payment for one rather than 3...?

You will like them and find it a rewarding project, well worth the time it takes to save up.

good luck, Vic
