Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Can you tell what color an adult eastern is going to turn out by looking at the baby?
If the babies have a lot of red in them, will they grow up to be the multi-colored adults?
 
Do you mean Tri colored or do you mean have color in them? Because a baby hognose snake could have no color in them and come from a really bright male or female but when the baby grows up and breeds it might pass the bight color on to its offspring.

Easterns are hard to read. Some that are bright as babies, stay bright. Others I have seen were "colored" as babies, but darkened with each shed, until totally black (melanistic). Technically, Red parents should produce red babies....but it does not always happen.

Kkin924, Tricolor Hognose are a South American species of hognose (Lystrophis), while the North American species (Western, Eastern, and Southern) are Heterodon. They are not really related. Hope that clears some things up.
