does this infer that Ed is up for this as well ? again I must state Ed brought all of this to himself. let's say Jody is a madman for a moment. then why would you not just pay up so that you and your family are not living in fear of a crazed man. showing up at the door of someone who robbed you is not abnormal. what I heard of what was send in the phone messages is out of line no doubt. I am only 35 and was taught to stand up for yourself and don't allow yourself to be taken advantage of. to just right it off as a bad deal is exactly what clownboy Ed is hoping for and has been hoping for since he began this. Tolerance of thieves is a concept I will never understand. But as long as everyone just keeps writing it off it will continue. As for how Jody could have done things different hindsight is 20/20. much could have been done differently. however, that is not the reality of it all. at this point it is what it is. to suggest that he waste more time in court and letting him know he will lose is senseless. I hope Jody can maintain his composure for the sake of his own piece of mind, but sometimes a man has to be a man. one last note when you rip someone off you don't get to decide the reaction you get. when you do someone wrong in the first place you are knowingly deciding to take a dark path. deal with whatever you create. Ed brought the loon out of Jody. His response to being ripped off is different than most. look how long it ha been with no resolution. that creates a situation for frustration to build.

With obvious lack of willingness to pay for the snake, I really hate to drive to Kansas and spend another $400 on a trip. If you count my first trip, I am now out $1100. Hindsight is 20/20, I wish a hundred times over I hadn't made the phone calls because I probably would have gotten better results when I went to his house. The past is the past and I can't change that. All I can do is apologize to Ed for my actions, as I have already done in an email and a phone message. For some, that is not good enough. Some folks need to learn to take an apology and move one. Can that right the wrong I did, no, but it is better than nothing.

In regards to making the deal right in order to not have to deal with someone he is scared of, I have thought the same thing about some of the people on here. If you think I am so unstable, why provoke me? Let a sleeping dog lie.

I think the insanity thing started here because of one person. If you read all the threads, there was never anyone calling me insane until I made the post about Dr. Owens. People did say I was wrong for making the phone calls, and I didn't disagree. I stated that I did that to try to scare him in wanting to complete the deal ASAP so I would leave him alone. Again, I was wrong and I know it.

The opinions stated by people calling me insane were the direct result of one person insinuating that I had an alcohol or drug problem and calling me a fruitloop. So, I think it was merely a case of people being followers and not leaders.

Dr. Owens apologized to me for what he said, and I accept it and forgive and go on, but others don't know when to stop. I am fed up with all the name calling, insults, and insinuations against me.

Here is the exact quote of my "apology" within the context in which it was given:

No...you lied about me. You came on here, and accused me of things that weren't true. You called my character into question over something that you completely made up. Once again, you're lying. You said that I called you an alcoholic, a drug addict, and said that you were psychotic. What I actually said was that your behavior was consistent with someone who had one or all of those problems. In case you weren't aware, substance abuse can mimic almost any mental illness. It can also exacerbate already existing mental illness. When someone is behaving in a psychotic manner (as you were in those voice mails), then substance abuse is always in the differential of possible diagnosis.

However, I did call you a fruitloop. I'm sorry if that offended you. However, given the fact that you were demonstrating a lack or organized thought, leveling false accusations against me without any previous provocation, and had somehow created some kind of delusional connection between yourself and me because we had both had dealings with Ed in the past...well, that was my assessment at the time...and quite frankly, still is.

I did not apologize for calling your mental status into question. It was your behavior that brought that about. You started a thread about me in which you lied multiple times about me, my actions, and things that I said. You LIED about me. If anyone should be apologizing it's you.


However, in spite of that fact, I am obligated to remain objective...

First, to quote Rick Carrick:

As for Mr. Barnes, he has had some tragic events in his life this past year, this doesn't excuse his behavior, but makes it more understandable.

Although I have never talked with Jody, I have talked with Ed, and I have to say that I agree with Rick's assessment of the situation.

You need to do the right thing. Either send him the check, or send him the snake. Just because Jody "scared you" doesn't excuse your stealing from him. He would have never done what he did if you hadn't been shady about things in the first place. Jody may have been wrong in how he handled things, but quite frankly, you brought all of that on yourself. Do the right thing, and make this deal right.

jody, I've made several personal appearances to get reptiles, some for others some for myself so I know how effective it can be. I, however, was smart enough NOT to call and make threats to the people I was going to see. That's illegal. Technically so is taking what belongs to you if it is in possesion of someone else when ownership is in question. You, as a former law enforcement officer, should be aware of this.

Stop your whining. You screwed up. You appologized. Good for you, you can do what any of us can do. An eye for an eye is all well and good, but what would you REALLY do if you got in front of ed? Would you hurt him? Would YOU, dumbass that you have proven yourself to be, be willing to go to jail over this?

Shut your gob and let those willing to help you do so.

I would have preferred him to just to have honored our agreement from the beginning and be done with it.

Hey guys-

Lets get back to the real issue... I dont have this snake that Jody says I have and I dont owe him any money. He got pissed that I sent him 3 of my snakes for one that he had. I took the deal, but made him ship first. If i was going to screw him over, why did I send him 3 snakes after i already had his snake? I had his snake then sent him the 3 pastel females, just like our deal. If i was out to just screw somebody, wouldnt I get his snake and not send the Female pastels? I did have his snake first...then sent the pastels. I heard from Jody 2 or 3 weeks later that the snakes i sent him would not eat. He got all bent out of shape about that and said he wanted the snake back...Well I dont know how most people do things here, but me being new to this, I said NO. I dont know the conditions he kept them in or any other variables, but i would not take the risk. He went crazy when i said no and said he would do whatever it took to "get me" I would assume this means lie! If my snakes are still alive, i would gladly give him back the breeder cinny to him and take the Lemons back. This boils down to the fact that I dont owe him money and if I was out to screw him i would have never sent him the pastels. I did send him the pastels and i did get my snake.

I am out...Its been an experience, but not worth it. Think about it, if i was out to screw him, i would have and not sent the pastels after I had his snake, but I did.

The snakes were alive, and I called Ed to ask about the money. Ed said he must have left it lying on the counter at FedEx when he sealed the box before shipping, and that he would go the next day and check. Ed called me and said the check was not at FedEx, and that he went to the bank to have the check cancelled and they would take up to 10 days to re-issue the check.

Make sure the dorsal markings are clearly visible in the picture for comparison. This is the photo I took of the animal to be able to recover in the event my collection was burglarized. I have a pic like this for every snake I currently have, or have sold.

Jody, do you have any email correspondence between the two of you at all concerning the deal? Could you copy and paste it WITH the header info containing Ed's email address in it? Not just the conversation, but the headers as well. If you don't know how, forward them to me at [email protected] and i will do it for you. Anything at all that mentions the $700 that I am starting to believe undoubtedly is owed to you.

This may go a long way to showing just what is going on here. Seems at first, Ed wasn't so quick to deny things, but more concerned over his fear. But now he is flat adamant he owes nothing. Something fishy going on here for sure.

I for one don't blame Jody at all for showing up on the dudes doorstep. I'd do it in a heartbeat, and I have. $700 may not seem like a lot to some people, but to a working man, it could mean a whole lot. I also ain't totally against a cartoon sized knot being put on a thieves skull for ripping people off. People see violence as barbaric, but fact is, in certain cases in history, it has proved most effective. Given the right circumstances of course.

I gotta disagree Rick. I think jody IS a psychotic ape. He's made some threats that he shouldn't have, played the poor pity me card, appologized but ONLY while saying that he forgave ed too, and has never come off as well balanced.

I DO think that ed is at best playing a game here. First he's all askeered, then he's all agone and now he's all asarcastic. Something isn't right, other than jody's mental state, and I highly suspect it's ed's relationship with honesty.

I'm STILL waiting on an answer to my VERY simple question ed. Did you or did you not tell jody you had a money order/check/payment that did not get sent to him?
