why does Ed wish to work a deal again with someone who has threatened his life and that he fears ? his story is of no substance. In my opinion he has already sold the Mojave and cashed out. part of living life right is paying your debts. Ironic quote to say the least. he will pay the poverty card in court. you will never see anything going down that path other than saying you won a judgement. but not many other options available to you. good luck. Jody, see to it that you never miss a chance to trash this pile of garbage to anyone willing to listen.

If you accept the part of the story that Mr. Barnes did not like the snakes (he stated) and the part that the snakes did not eat for Mr. Barnes, Mr. Braaten could have been refering to assisting Mr. Barnes with information on getting them to feed.

I don't know about anyone else here but that does not sound like an email from anyone, oh so scared, as a matter of fact it sounds like he is daring Jody, that was not Eds brightest idea of the week. Myself, I have no time or pity for low life scammers they should all be Deleted from this hobby. As for Eds short time in this hobby, he contacted me last Jan. asking a lot of questions about Boas, I spent many hours talking to Ed about the care of, breeding, housing of, I really thought he was interested in Boas, then one day in March(I believe)he called and said he bought someones entire collection of Ball pythons. I didn't even know he had a interest in them, he never asked a single question about Ball Pythons and he knew we had some of them as well as Boas, I think Ed got into this for all the wrong reasons $$$$$$$$. When the money looks nicer then anything in your collection, it is time to find a new hobby.

Ed has acknowledged that he received a cinnamon pastel from Jody, but so far he has refused to acknowledge whether or not he received a mojave from him. However, I know that he has one because he told me so in a phone conversation back in September.

A couple of other interesting tid bits

I was contacted through this site by Shawn Thomison. He is the ex-husband of Ed's current wife Becky. Shawn said he had information that I might be interested in that he gained about Ed during the course of in conjuntion with Ed's ex-wife on a custody for all af the kids involved. I sent him my phone number and he called with this information. We talked on the phone for almost two hours and I have no reason to believe that he was lying. I say this becuase I met another person in a gas station where I was looking for information about Ed told me that Shawn was an upstanding good guy, was well liked by Becky's mother Margie Wright, and knew his family as well as Becky's. This person worked for Becky's dad before passing away and knew Shawn and Becky from the time they were married until the present. This person also was in possession of a vehicle belonging to Ed and Becky that he had done a major amount of mechanical work to and hadn't been paid yet. He owns an automotive shop there in Rose Hill. I think it jives with everything I have figured out about Ed also.

1.Ed started this hobby with a $6,000.00 loan from his mother-in-law. She gave him part of a dividend check that comes from interests in some oil money that Becky's dad had before he passed away.

2.Ed owes three year's back taxes to the IRS and his wages are currently garnished for that by his employer, Hawker Beechcraft.

3.Ed's wife was fired from her job because she was working at Bank of America where Shawn had his account. He opened the account before she was employed there. Shawn told me that Becky was printing his account information and that her and Ed were trying to use it against him in the child custody case. Shawn said there was no information that could benefit them in there, but they didn't have a subpoena for that information so it was done illegally.

With all of this money Ed owes people, it might be a little harder to get my money. I'll take my chances though.

We agreed that if Ed did that I would pay Rick for shipping the snake and give him the money to pay Ed. At the time he heard about this, he might have to file a mechanic's lean against the vehicle if Ed didn't pay. He did the work upfront without being paid.

I would pay Rick for the shipping. The offer was to pay Ed for the money it cost him to ship the snake. If Rick shipped it, I would owe Rick not Ed.

I was referring to the fact that after Jody threatens Ed's life that Ed then states maybe they could do another deal sometime. why would anyone want to make another deal with someone who threatens you or your family ? the mojave in question it seems was sold to one of ed's friends. that is why ed told jody to meet a friend down at the gas station with it. that would infer to me at least that the mojave was already sent somewhere before jody showed up there. it is my understanding that Ed did not know that jody was coming to his home until he showed up at his doorstep. to meet elswhere to obtain the mojave also implies it would be returned to Jody at the gas station. it is my opinion that Ed sold this mojave to someone else and did not count on a long drive by jody. he simply was playing the odds and it did not shake out for him in this instance.

Of course that could have also been a clever ruse to get a less clever person who had made threats of violence to leave the property and give him time to get the police on the case. A very good tactic actually.

As Mr. Braaten did not list a mojave among his collection in his post on this thread there is a chance that it has been sold as you suggest, there is also a chance that Mr. Braaten still has it AND there is even a chance that it is as Mr. Braaten claims;

Once again, I dont have a snake that belongs to him, and i dont owe him a dime. He originally told me that he was going to do what it took to screw me because the 3 female pastels i sent him wouldnt eat, but i had fed them more than 5 times before i sent them. They were fine when i sent them and i am sure are still fine.

I heard from Jody 2 or 3 weeks later that the snakes i sent him would not eat. He got all bent out of shape about that and said he wanted the snake back...Well I dont know how most people do things here, but me being new to this, I said NO. I dont know the conditions he kept them in or any other variables, but i would not take the risk. He went crazy when i said no and said he would do whatever it took to "get me" I would assume this means lie!

That said I have no doubt that Mr. Braaten did at one time have a Mojave in his possesion unless he lied to Dr. Owens & Mr. Carrick about having one which I somehow doubt.
I too would like to see a picture of the Mojave that Mr. Bratten has/had or hear an admission from him that he was a liar trying to impress when he told two others about it.
