In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I've been expecting these~ but the excitement of actually finding them is unbeleivable! This is the FIRST BP clutch here!!! The parents are two possible het Axanthics I got from Damion Wyatt in 02.

Aren't they beautiful!! 6 beautiful eggs! I don't know what to do with myself now~ I can't wait to see what is in those eggs!! (Ball pythons silly!) The next two months are going to kill me!! Now if the Het Pieds would just do as well!!!!!!!

I buried the eggs with barely moist vermiculite/perlite mix because it works well with corn eggs

Way to go Cheryl.

I know what you are going through as far as the wait. My first clutch is due to pip in 2-3 days and I'm going nuts.

Be sure to post pics of the babies, I hope to see an axanthic or two.

Congratulations!! Seeing those eggs for the first time can really take your breath away. Good Luck, and keep us posted.

Congrats Cheryl! It's one of those rare events where each time bears the excitement of the very first one! Best of lucks through the whole incubation period!

Regards.

Wow

That is so exciting. I have just purchased my first pair of balls.
I look forward to having this excitement in two or three years.
Make sure you post pics of the babies.
Congratulations !

Nothing more exciting than visiting the “nursery” every morning! Here are some of my babies while I clean them and prepare to feed them.

Regards.

Thanks for all the well wishes everyone! I candled the eggs, and they all have viens~ YYYAAAYYY!!! I'll definatly post pics when they hatch!!

As for price, I really don't know. Axanthics have really dropped in price in the last couple years since I purchased my poss hets. I really don't know the exact price range right now, but I know it depends on the line of Axanthic a lot. My pair are poss het for VPI, and het for an unproven line of Axanthic. IF I get Axanthics I won't know what line they are.

Basically~ I don't know what price they would go for. IF I get any, I imagine I'll hold onto them and hope the price comes back up when we start seeing more designer combo's with Axanthics. But I'm not "Counting my eggs before they hatch" so I'm not really counting on any Axanthics at all. It will just be a happy surprise if I get some!

Axanthids or not...

Cheryl,

It doesn’t really matter (well, to a certain extent anyways) if you produce or not axanthics in your first breeding. It is just the thrill of being able to see those babies being born right in front of your eyes. It’s a wonderful sensation and responsibility at the same time. They are there because of our efforts and it’s a reaffirmation of sound management practices. It’s a nice feeling all the way around even if they are just those incredibly beautiful normal ball pythons.

Take care!

Awesome! Congrats! This was my first year breeding and seeing those eggs pip and the babies exploring their new world was priceless!

I agree~ I'll be very happy to see some beautiful little Wild Type faces stick out of those eggs in two months!! If Axanthic faces stick out~ all the better~ but I'll be happy for any little faces!

I'm pretty easily pleased though~ I'm on pins and needles waiting for my first corn snake clutch of the year to hatch any time now~ this is my third year breeding corn snakes~ you'd think it would be less exciting by now~ but I swear it's still as much fun as three years ago!!

They are hatching!!!! They are hatching!!!!

Only one has pipped so far~ a beautiful little Wild Type nose ~I knew Axanthics were too much to hope for~ but there is still 5 more eggs that I don't know about yet!!

OMG! They are hatching!!!
More pics later when there is more to see!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations Cheryl! That's a wonderful picture. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Regards. :)

I think she's going to explode with excitement. :hehe:

I can't wait for BP and corn hatchlings, it will be just as exciting as when I got my first dragon babies. The excitement is a little less after the first time but damn close......I don't think it every really gets boring no matter how many you produce. Especially if you are working on new traits, etc. :)

Okay~ they've all pipped now, but none have exited the eggs. Actually only 4 pipped on their own~ I went ahead and pipped the last two myself as they were more than 24 hours behind. Looks like all normals. Thats okay~ I knew Axanthics were too much to hope for. I never win at "chance" games so I knew I had pretty slim odds of hitting with two possible hets. I'm not disappointed ~well~ I am a little, but I'm trying not to be~ they are just such cute little Wild Types all the same~ and hopefully I'll get a couple girls out of it.

I'll put up more pics when they actually finish hatching!

They've all hatched out now. No Axanthics in the lot~ They are spectacularly average! (I'm proud of them anyway!) LOL Looks like a good ratio. I came up with 1.5 when I popped them this morning. Of course~ that sounds too good to be true~ so I'll be popping all the girls again next week to see if the ratio changes!!
