(Mount Vernon-WABC, March 13, 2006) - Authorities in Mount Vernon made a frightening discovery in a public park.
Police helped capture an eight foot long Burmese python in Wilson Woods Park Saturday evening.
An animal expert believes it is likely the snake was a pet that was abandoned by its owner. The reptile now has a new home with a man who does animal education programs.
