    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Ellen Force deserves some recognition. She put a couple of snakes up for adoption last week, and I responded to the ad. She had an Eastern Milk, which I have always wanted, and a hatchling corn that she rescued from a closing pet store. She needed to "thin the herd", and decided to try and find homes for these 2 animals. She didn't try to make a fast buck by selling them, but she took her time to find appropriate placement for them. She related that both had previous "issues", but they had all been taken care of. We made arrangements for her to ship the snakes to me, and I would reimburse her for shipping. The snakes arrived today, as promised, packed in a professional looking, sturdy, styrofoam lined box. With my initial inspection, both animals looked great, slightly small as the result of the prior "issues" which were fully discussed with me beforehand. They are currently making themselves at home in their quarantine containers, but I have no doubt that they will be healthy members of my little reptile community.
The point I am trying to make is that Ellen was more concerned for the animals welfare than for making a quick buck. After looking at them, I know that she could have sold these animals, if she so desired.
After being thoroughly depressed over the recent spate of idiots looking to "adopt" reptiles (except any that are sick, won't eat, are aggressive, are to big, are to small, wrong species, have injuries, have scars, are the wrong sex, are the wrong color, etc, etc, etc....)(i.e., "I'm too cheap to buy my own reptile, so send me one for free"), and scumbags trying to scam people with fake hets, or using other breeders pictures to represent their animals, I have a more positive attitude now that I have received these excellent animals, at the ridiculous price of "shipping". It proves to me first hand, that there are people in the reptile community that really care about the animals (I know that there are actually many, but an interaction like this really substantiates that fact).
I don't know if Ellen has any plans for selling in the future, but if she does, I would put my recommendation behind her 100%.
Thanks again Ellen, and thanks to all who read this.
