• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

EMERALDS IN A RACK.

I was over eager and very ambitious when I first started putting this project together. did not know then what I know now about Emeralds. have scaled way back the numbers I am going to work with, it never was about the money that could be made. these are a challenge and a fun project. the racks are mostly for quarantine and getting them started. I do have some set up in 112 Qt tubs that seem to meet their requirements. still tweaking everything I do with these. :)

Ed, all advice aside, I have been interested in Arboreals for quite sometime but have yet to pull the trigger. I ascertain, just from the comments you have made, that this is more about the enjoyment of owning them vs selling them. If that's the case, then I would encourage you to follow the advice of others and set them up in a system whereby you can easily view them for your enjoyment. I can't imagine keeping them in a rack system whereby you cannot easily see them.

When I do pull the trigger it will be a very large caging system that will not only allow me to keep several animals but it will also be a display in my office. Hopefully not too many clients will object!

Feeding Schedule

I would advise a good look at your feeding schedule as well. It is very easy to over feed ETBs. In fact the first one I ever purchased was treated like any other boa in regards to feeding and ended up overweight and with severe bowl trouble. I now fed every 3 weeks and there must be a bowl movement between feedings. Remember ETBs and NOT fat snakes, they should be trim and muscular. Over feeding can result in distended bowls and prolapse.

Not to be rude or overstep my bounds, but Emerald Tree Boas... are tree boas. They need to be elevated. They may seem "content" right now, but it won't last.
