In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

The only thing that's really bothered me is how quickly people jump to drastic and radical conclusions. I honestly wouldnt be surprised if Emiley has done this to other people through paypal transactions.

Have you filed a dispute with PayPal yet? I would call customer service so you can more clearly explain to a person what transpired.

Emiley did to try to get the extra $11, so I provided the evidence in that claim. However, if this does not get resolved within the next few days I have no qualms with filing against her and contacting a representative.

Are you sure the buyer put the hold on? Paypal itself sua sponte, puts many holds on accounts for various reasons:

Pal Holds FAQFrequently Asked Questions - Payment Holds
Overview
When some sellers receive payments, we may hold the money in a pending balance for up to 21 days to help make sure that there are funds in the seller's account to cover potential refunds or claims. The funds may be released early if PayPal determines that the transaction has been fulfilled and customers are satisfied.

While funds are pending, the money belongs to you but isn't available to spend or withdraw. If you're a PayPal Money Market Fund customer, you'll continue to earn interest on the total balance, even while the funds are held.*

If payments on your account are held, we'll notify you. PayPal will re-evaluate your account every 35 days and decide whether or not to continue holding payments. If we decide to stop holding future payments, we'll contact you.

I have read this thread from beginning to end a few times, I felt something was missing and I just felt something was fishy about the way Emiley went about this transaction. And yes Bridgette, it is shameful how ppl jumped on you, called you very hurtful names and threw you under the bus......I do believe you are owed an apology....period.
I have purchased many many geckos from you in the past, (and will in the future) and you were very professonal, quick to reply and very helpful. It really hurt me to see how people conducted themselves here, and knowing you, I am sure the sting from it all must have penetrated very deep.

I don't believe Emiley has the ability to place a temporary hold on any of your funds. Only Pay Pal has the ability to do that. Is there any indication in your Pay Pal account as to why they have placed a hold on the funds?

Yep, what likely happened is that Emiley filed a paypal claim and it has not yet been closed.

And wile you are back here Bridgette how about giving Emiley the rest of her money that you kept as "fees."

"I thought there was something fishy going on here"

"I knew there was more to this story"

Holy crap people, have you already forgotten that Bridgette still owes Emiley money and that she the basically tried to blackmail her into purchasing geckos she did not want? Talk about jumping from one band wagon to the next.

:shrug01: Even if Emiley was scamming her (which I do not believe) I still would not be willing to do business with Bridgette based on the words that came out of her own mouth, not Emileys'.

Emiley, do you plan on giving me back the $300 you "stole" from my paypal account? I refunded your money on Feb 24th. You placed a hold on your original payment, leaving me negative -$300. You have your money, why are you trying to steal from me? At first I thought you would come to your senses and release the payment, but this is going on two weeks that you have had $300 that you basically stole from my account. Like everyone else I have bills to pay and purchases to make and need my money back. Release the payment please and this will not go any further. Everyone can go back to smack talking.

You obviously have not checked first with Paypal. Your eagerness to accuse Emiley is I think a red herring, an intentional effort by you to get the heat off of your own self after the original issue which was you trying to pull a fast one and force this buyer to pay for a different order, tailored by you, than what she had originally purchased.

:iagree: Completely. Bridgette is still a bad guy IMO. I had been lurking on this thread since it was started, and the ignorance and attitude of Bridgette to her buyer was unbelievable! I would never buy from someone that has those kind of business ethics...

I am not condoning or defending Bridgette's actions in the beginning BUT 2 wrongs do not make a right.

Reguardless of Bridgette's mistaken philosophy in the beginning of this thread it does not give Emiley the right to possibly put a stop payment on the original funds. I have had people knowingly pay me through PayPal using a bank account that had no funds and the transaction was reversed well after shipment of product was made. For whatever reason Paypal has never put a hold on payments made to me.

I think it is a problem if Emiley knew in advance that PayPal holds all her payments and she uses that as an insurance policy in case she does not like the product she received........she simply runs to the bank and puts a stop payment or empties the account before the funds have time to come out.

The only things the screen shots show was that you received a payment from Emily on 2/24/11 for $300.00

That you refunded only $60.00 the same day. In response, a paypal complaint was launched the same day which put a hold on the transaction for $300.00

The next day on 2/25/11 you sent $229.00 for a total of $289.99.

At this point, all it shows is the transaction is yet resolved. She hasn't received all her funds and nobody has closed the initial investigation. She hasn't received any extra funds, it's just still being held because you and the buyer didn't close out the initial investigation.

You can simply state that you refunded the buyer to PayPal except for stealing $11.00 from her. The buyer can state she is satisfied that her original complaint has been settled. Or she can dispute she is still out the $11.00 and you will have to wait to PayPal decides.

You didn't send anything and have no tracking number to her so you will be hard-pressed to prove that she received something for that $11.00

It all depends on how you issued the refund. If you simply just sent the funds back to her email address or you clicked the refund button. If you just simply sent the money back, PayPal doesn't automatically know its for the contested amount. It's the same as sending her a payment and she is out fees for receiving that money. That's what it looks like to me. Either way your buyer did nothing wrong. All you have to do is explain to paypal you sent the money back to her the wrong way.

She did nothing wrong. She hasn't received any extra funds at this point and probably has incurred more fees to loss of her total refund.

I don't follow you here. You assume Emiley is in an elaborate plot to scam Brigette out of money? What exactly is this based on? I think you are grasping at straws AT BEST here. There is ZERO evidence to support your claims. It has been mentioned multiple times that Emiley cannot place a hold on the money. Paypal has to do this. AND, as Dennis just mentioned, Emiley is still owed money so why should she close the dispute?:ack2:
