    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

Does anyone have any comparison photos (together) of adult Enchi vs Super Enchi? I just had a clutch hatch from Blackback Enchi x Pastel and ended up with 3 Pastel Enchi and 6 Enchi. Statistically that shouldn't have happened (but we all know Murphy!). I've always thought the male looked odd colored for an Enchi, so I thought I would reach out to the community to see if anyone had any good comparison photos. :)

Here are photos of the Enchi in question. He's not the most cooperative and these images really don't do him any justice with regards to color. His coloring in real life is closer to the 1st Super Enchi on WOBB. When initially purchased from NERD, I was told that he was the same Enchi Black Back seen on WOBB, and if you look at the head pattern, it does look like the same snake. He's just not nearly as bright yellow as that particular photo.

I do have one more clutch from this male incubating from a Black Back Cinnamon. If those turn out all Enchi, I'll be even more suspicious.

The Enchis from this particular clutch look like low grade Pastels, but they don't have the purple heads signifying Pastel Enchi. When you toss them in all together you can't really tell them apart too well based on body color alone.

It's been two days. Honestly if no one is replying, no one has an answer for you or no one has the photos. I personally didn't even know that a super enchi existed. Be patient and someone may or may not help you out

I wasn't lecturing you, Stephanie. Just because you have been on this forum for twelve years doesn't mean that you are going to get instant replies. My apologies if I came off as rude. However, patience is still important.

You misinterpreted why I admonished you. It was for your attempt to chide me on how the forum works (ie "having patience"). As I've been interacting here for 12 years, I am well aware of how it works. Forum interaction appears to have declined over the last several years, which is very unfortunate. I myself am guilty as I have turned into more of a lurker these last few years rather then an active participant due to my busy schedule.

A better response from you would have been "I didn't even know Super Enchi's existed! I hope someone else chimes in with some input!" instead of the attempt at censure.

For your education, Super Enchi's have been produced since at least 2003. The difference between Enchi and Super can be pretty subtle, which is why I'm looking for more of side-by-side comparison. As with many mutations, their are various grades within Enchi (just like, for example, Pastel) and perhaps mine is being effected by the Genetic Black Back only and I was just insanely lucky with the clutch of 9 from last week. The other clutch I had mentioned being from this same male should be out any day now and perhaps those results will shed some light on this.

Again, my apologies. I did misinterpret your words. Thank you for correcting me, thank you for explaining a super enchi, and congrats on the clutch.

Wish I did but I do not have any side by side photos of my own. Am sure you may already know which subtleties, etc., to look for, but pics sure do help.
You may have seen it already, or maybe not, but am going to send you a link, via PM, that shows a clutch of Super Enchis and Enchi. Don't know if it will help but hope it does at least a little bit.

Thanks, Deb. You're spot on about the subtleties in Enchi vs Super, that's why side by side is most helpful. Looking at the male I posted, did you have any thoughts to share?

The male's second clutch is hatching now, so far I've got one Cinnamon Enchi out with 4 more I'm waiting on to make an appearance (looks like one Cinnamon something and 3 Normal something's are pending). We'll see as they come out! :)

Do not lecture me, Samantha. I have been a member of this forum for 12 years.

She was trying to be encouraging, there was no call for two condescending responses...especially since you KNOW the forums aren't as active as they used to be, AND that given the specific images you requested you wouldn't get many replies. Get over yourself, Steph.

In terms of your boy, he appears to have a reduced side pattern, his eye appears to be on the lighter side of the norm, and there is a head pattern but difficult to see what it truly looks like.
Considering these things, and what he has produced, it is quite possible that he is a Super. However, I cannot say with 100% confidence. Your second clutch, by him, can be pretty telling.
BTW I love his mustache/smile.:)

I'm not going to argue with you, Harald. I didn't find the post to be "encouraging", only irritating, but you're differing opinion is noted. I also hardly have to "get over myself"...I'm trying to initiate a discussion on the forums, not be lectured on waiting days for interactions. I believe that's already been established and we've moved on.

Thanks again, Deb! He is not the most cooperative for picture taking, definitely a runner. For me, I'm not sure if his unusual coloring and pattern has more to do with him also being a Genetic Black Back, it's tough for me to say. Really the closest to black on the guy is his like a sir mustache (LOL)...Shame his pattern doesn't make him look like he has a monocle to match. ;)

A monocle would be so cool. LoL
I know what you mean about the pattern and his being a black back. It is a tough call on this guy.
Cannot wait to see what all the babies are in the 2nd clutch.

Whelp, we've got 3 Enchi Cinnamons and 3 Enchis. :shrug01: I'll take clutch photos after the remaining two come out.

I'm not sure how else to determine if he's a Super Enchi or not beyond pairing him again next year. I wasn't planning on using him, but I suppose I could pair him with the Caramel Pastel next.

Congrats on the clutch/es!
Well, it sure seems as though he is a Super. Cannot imagine someone having those phenomenal odds with a couple of clutches. So, either you are the utmost luckiest gal or your boy is a Super.;)

And here are the babies...

3 male Cinnamon Enchis, 1 male Enchi and 1 female Enchi. In total, all 14 of his offspring this year were Enchis. If I don't find a buyer for these adult female Normals I have, I think I will try him again next year with them since I have no other plans for those girls.

Ah ha! While looking for another photo, I came across this photo of the Enchi. This is a more accurate representation of his band colors! No black!
