Enclosures near windows?

I am moving to a new house and I thought that the back porch, (it is actually an indoor porch, all glass across the back but nicely shaded all day by large trees right off the porch) would be a great place to put my enclosures. Then I was doing some research and come to find that putting enclosures near windows is a terrible idea, but can't seem to find out why. I know UVA enters through windows so you risk overexposure on that end, but as long as it is shaded and you keep the other nutrients at appropriate levels, including UVB, I don't understand why there would be an issue. Anyone? Thanks in advance.

When you put an enclosure by a window, the sun basically turns it into a green house. The temperatures will be very hard to control and will likely get too high. The only time I could see it working out is if you had an all screen enclosure that wouldn't trap the heat.

Is this true in all cases or just with direct sunlight? Like I say, the whole thing is up against what is basically woods so there is never any direct sunlight anywhere on the porch.

In your case it may be okay. I would test it with an enclosure without anything in it for a couple days and see how the temps fluctuate (or dont, hopefully).

Thanks for the response, I thought heat control might be an issue but I wanted to make sure there weren't some underlying UV conditions I wasn't aware of

I think as long as the animal has the option to move to a shaded area and regulate their own exposure, it shouldn't be an issue.
