• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I got an inquiry that totally reminded me of the Craigslist fishing for email addresses scam when they say "Is it still available?"
He has been a registered user since 2005 with the last or only real activity being in 2006.
Anybody got similar emails from him?
He insists that I use the email address [email protected].
I told him I sent a couple emails to the email that he would have registered through fauna and he kept wanting to steer me to the other one without asking any real questions about the reptile.
He could be legit or just tire kicking but reminds me of a very old scam.
Anybody got any info?

That email address and username are also associated with a user on AR15.com. The guy joined the site 2007, location listed as Florida, and he has decent feedback (25 positives 0 negatives).

It is the same method used to collect emails, put them on a list and then send out the spam. I am sorry if my suspicions were not correct, but when your email address did not match the one you used to register on fauna, which I think is against the fauna rules it made me a bit suspicious. I checked for any record of you on fauna and it was from 9 years ago, so I felt I had to put an inquiry out there. Once again my apologies if I was wrong, but it would help to update your email with fauna.

I have 4 email addresses. I use different ones on different sites.
Never heard of a rule like yo mentioned albeit I don't read every sites list of rules

I was in the market for a group of Lessers. I'm not a tire kicker, I just want to cherry pick a male, and some females that I personally liked. As for me being a tire kicker, I have acquired three so far which have not been shipped yet from two reputable breeders.
From his PM 02-11-2015, 11:07 AMHis weight this am was 765 grams however, since I did not hear back yesterday i fed him a small rat so I figure before that 700grams. I could have dropped him at the airport this am with heat pack waould have been ok to florida, but temps going into deep freeze here tonight. I think photos are about 2 months old. Him and all my no longer needed males are going to Tiley Park Reptile Show in mid march so I am guessing I wont have him long. I tbink since I hatched him out several years ago he has prolly sired atleast 50 hatchlings lol. Definately a stud and the big plus, HE EATS WHILE BREEDING, so he is a work horse with no worries about losing weight. Eats live rats.

After closer inspection of the photo in your ad, I felt you were not representing the snake honestly, and lied about its feeding habits.

I see clearly he has lost weight, and he looks thin for his size/age. Never the less, his record card shows he has only eaten once in December, and none in January. He has been off feed according to your own records, yet to sell me your "no longer needed male" you lied about him eating during the breeding season.
...I told him I sent a couple emails to the email that he would have registered through fauna and he kept wanting to steer me to the other one without asking any real questions about the reptile.
You said I never asked any questions but I have asked things like, (what is he eating? how much does he weigh? are the pics you tried to send the one in his ad?). You also lied about sending pictures to my email, on two occasions. There is absolutely nothing wrong with my email address, I check it several times a day, and you just lied about it.

Its my opinion you should be the one in question here. You didn't want me to have your email address out of fear of spam, but yet, you posted my personal email address on the BOI which can never be deleted, and you put me at risk for spam. I should have been the one inquiring about you, but your ethics, and actions spoke for you.

No, I believe on your third Private message back, after I posted a BOI inquiry, you asked about his weight.
Like i said, when you just ask is he or it still available is the most famous phishing for your email scams online these days. It is used on Craigslist all the time.
I know Fauna wants all your correct info and makes sure you are who you are by making sure your email or IP address is really who you claim to be.

I did nothing wrong by posting an inquiry. That is what BOI is for and many use it. This has nothing to do with ethics. I didn't or don't know you from a total stranger and we live i a world of scammers. I had every right to be suspicious about you. This whole thing could have been avoided if your contact info was up to date. Is it really that difficult to do?

He does eat while locked or while breeding which I have seen very few males do. All of my males are pretty lean but quite healthy or they wouldn't be producing as well as they do. I can see you are so offended by me using the BOI to check if you are for real and now you are trying to turn it around like I did something wrong by criticizing the animal. I don't have any unhappy buyers out there.

Sorry, I thought it was. When I originally signed up or registered with fauna, I recall a waiting period before I could be allowed to use the site because my identity had to be matched to my IP address.
