Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy EVAN STAHL

Ryan has over 30 Positive trader ratings and has been a member for years. Its hard to think he would just drop his credit with people over one sale.

There is always a solution for ever problem.

Actually, Ryan is a new member with 0 trader ratings. I think you were talking about Evan.

I have had good experiences with Evan; but I've seen him to sometimes be intolerant and short tempered. I don't feel that his responses are particularly out of character for a customer threatening a chargeback.
 
Just to add - mentioning chargeback, claim, dispute, etc can get a variety of responses. I've had sellers immediately process refunds to avoid it, and others simply accept that as a solution. In the case of a customer that has already tried a claim with PayPal, it isn't unreasonable to expect that they will file with their credit card, as well. That puts the seller in the position of possibly being out the animal (or money, if a refund is issued) AND having money taken from them by the credit card company. Sure, they can usually get that money back; but it's a hassle and takes time.
 
Thanks for the info, tat2d1. I've been researching businesses where I can buy a couple of snakes, and after reading your posts, I definitely WON'T be buying from Evan! Sounds like he had plenty of time to deliver your snakes, then to use his personal problems as excuses for not filling an order was way over the top. Business is business, regardless of what may happen in personal life, and to use it as an excuse is very unprofessional. He shouldn't have made his problems your problems, but unfortunately, that seems to be the case far too often these days. Also, I saw nothing in your posts that could be construed as whiny or thinking the world revolved around you. You placed an order, looks like you patiently waited, and when your order was not delivered, you brought it to his attention. his comments and excuses clearly show he did not appreciate you as a customer A wise businessman would never give excuses and chide a customer, particularly on a public forum. Talk about unprofessional. I'll definitely be purchasing my snakes from someone else. Hope you get a refund.

I then got an email from him saying "emails keep bouncing back". That was on April 3rd.Then I didn't hear from him again. I had posted a thread on ball-pythons.net asking about the guy ( I will provide a link to that thread ), and on 4/9/14 a user named sho220 provided me with a link to Evan's Facebook page. I immediately made contact with Evan. He got right back to me and said that he had been busy and would arrange shipping very shortly. Then he went silent again. I made contact with him again on the 17th, and he said if weather permitted he would ship, I then provided a link to his local forecast for the next week and mentioned that it looked like there could be a couple of good days on his end, and got no response. On the 21st I sent him a message on Facebook asking how things were looking on his end. No response. So, yesterday, April 25th, I was pissed and feeling like I had been scammed, so I left a post publicly on his wall saying that he had terrible customer service, didn't return calls or emails. Within minutes my post was deleted and I got a profanity laden personal message. He said he would refund my money Monday to which I replied "Good, I will take my business elsewhere and if my money isn't refunded Monday I will be calling my credit card company". He then said I was making threats, told me to go through my credit card company, not to contact him again or it would be considered harassment. I told him I wasn't making threats, but I wasn't going to just sit back and let him screw me. His response was "I've never screwed anybody, talk to your credit card company, goodbye". He then posts on the ball-python.net thread and calls me a liar, then tells blatant lies ( including saying that he offered to ship on this coming Monday, and as the screenshots will prove, he NEVER did) and half truths, to which I responded with the truth and the proof to back it up.

It is my opinion that this guy should be avoided like a plague.

Ryan did you make a second account under the name calydrummer?

It's seem so because the account was just made and only has one post.

It looks like you made a second account to comment on your own post to degrade Evan.

Just crazy that a new member first and only post is under this topic.

I think a IP check should be pushed.
 
Go ahead....check the IP, it isn't my account. This is the only account I have or need. This is the same name I use anywhere I post. I hope a mod or admin can and will please verify through IP or any other means available to them. I will gladly accept your apology if/when an admin or mod proves I'm telling the truth.

I do know the guy,...he had been asking me some info about where I got all my snakes, and asked who I would and wouldn't recommend. I gave him some names of others I have bought from without problems and gave him a link to this thread, as well as the one on B-P.net and told him to come to his own conclusions, but that I would advise staying away from this guy(Evan). I will continue to direct others to this thread any time I am asked anything pertaining to who should be avoided in this hobby/industry. Ultimately people will decide for themselves who they will and won't do business with.

You have that freedom to give advice to whom ever you like. But understand that it hurts the other person by doing so.

Even though your point is valid on this issue with Evan, he still has done something right as a person considering his trader rating is one of the better ones on fauna.

One negative trade shouldn't constitute a person to be on the wall of shame.

But these are all opinion based ideas I have. This is the Internet, Post as you wish my friend.
 
I looked as his trader reviews and that's what I was basing my opinion on.

I see that there is one more negative topic on Evan... I guess two is the right amount vs 38 Positive. Got cha.

Any way I had a troll come along and give me negative karma for ""what a moronic statement""" .. So I think it's best for me to stay out of this one.

You're very welcome for the karma contribution; and I stand behind my assessment of your posts. However, you might want to go back to your 'karma rehab' thread if you want to whine about it.

This isn't the first time Stahl pulled this exact same stunt, and something tells me it won't be the last. No matter what their excuse may be, if someone jerks you around and subsequently refuses to issue a refund when you're finally sick of playing their game, that's something that potential future victims may appreciate knowing about.

Ad to your laughable ideas about how much trader ratings truly mean, I need say only this: Ed Clark and Matt Graybeal.
 
David, I think you are confusing "Trader Ratings" and BOI threads. When someone mentions a search, they mean to look for more BOI threads. If you scroll down to the bottom of this page, you'll see a section called 'Similar Threads'. There, without even performing a search for his name, you can see that there are at least two other BG threads about Evan.
 
Ok well my ideas didn't fly to well. Dan, you have the right to give me BAD karma. You have Very good karma, so i can't sit here and think your a bad guy just because we didn't meet the right way.

With that being said, I'm just going to try and learn how to post things in a better manner or not even post at all. I see that you do a lot of work in the BOI and I'm guessing that you know more about this than I do.

I just think like to think that there is a solution for every problem. I'm sorry that I called you a Troll, it's not my place to call you outside of your name.

Rob, I see at the lower end of this page what your talking about. I will use it to make a better post next time.
