In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Good Morning Everyone~

I have a question that is certainly new to me [ becuz keeping Beardies is rather new and I generally only post about Morelia ] BUT hopefully not to some of you more experienced breeders and keepers.

Our lone Beardie, "Lorenzo" was looking to be taken out of his enclosure for some atention this morning and when my "other half" went to get him, he noticed some very odd looking bumps around his "private parts" that were symetrical. They dont look like they are infected...but rather like symetrically placed "beads" or acne. :shrug01:

He is on play sand that was sterilized; eats mostly crickets, mealworms, and a pinky[once a week]...we're really not sure that he eats his greens, becauz he'd rather dance around in his salad bowl. We do dust his crickets and meal worms with that calcium powder.

He's is active, eating as usual, and thats about all I can offer as his "history". Oh yes we know he is male and that he is about 2 years old.

I have attached pix to illustrate what I am writing about. Any comments, info, advice would be greatly appreciated. We have a 7 y/o son who would really freak out if this is something of a medical emergency.

Thanks so much :yesnod:

Hi, I am pretty new to having dragons also. I looked in my Bearded Dragon Manual and found something that looks like it except it was not dark like yours is. In my book in a photograph it shows a adult male bearded dragon with the same bumps. It says adult bearded dragons are easy to sex. In addition to larger heads, males have enlarged
pre-anal and femoral pores, which are clearly visible in the photo graph. It is the same
symmetrical bumps. Looks to be just a characteristic of the male dragon. If I am wrong I am sure when someone who is more experience will be on later and help. Everyone on this forum is great at help when they can.

BRENDA: you r perfectley correct, males besides having larger heads, they do have the pre-anal and femoral pores that in most are very easy to see. Good job! your getting the hang of this stuff now! Is that the book I recommmended for you to read? If so AWESOME! KEEP READING IT YOU WILL LEARN ALOT FROM IT!

BRIAN: I do have to agree with David, his feet and tail do look alittle pinky, if thats his normal coloration I have never seen a pinky colored one like that before! :)

My males and females have those pores. Male's are deifnitely bigger, but i have never seen them colored like that.

oooops hey guys! I am so sorry  ...I also posted this on another forum specifically for Beardies and in that post I clarified that Lorenzo's feet are all pinkish because of the Repti-Sand. Unfortunately I let someone sell me a colored sand for reptiles and that sands bleeds.

So he is all good.... I just gave to get a new substrate. Btw.... I did get an answer to my question...and I really feel silly for making such a big deal out of it.

Lorenzo thanks you all [ and so do I]

Cheers,
bdj

Yes Debra it is the book. I read it all the time when I need to find some info I need. Sometimes though it all of you that help me the most. It does say that a male a female is ideal to keep together. But I know different from all of you guys. I don't want my girls stressed out and get sick from the relentless male. I have learned a lot from asking questions on the forum and to the breeder. Some also comes from just getting to know your dragons.

As I was told, don't feel silly about asking questions. That is how we learn. Also it is a good thing because it shows you love and and care for your baby.
