Everglades swamped with invading pythons

It's cool that Burms are here in the states, yet it's not cool that they threaten native and some already threatened native species.
As a snake lover, how am I supposed to feel about this??

It is neat, but we stand to lose a lot more than we have to gain from them being here...

Although I don't see any Florida laws restricting people from collecting them year round. Maybe everyone could go grab a few and help out the native wildlife

The irony is that probably people won't care much while they're eating bobcats and deer, but look out once they start on the house cats and dogs.......

it is highly illegal to collect anything from the everglades and the fines are hefty. however, the governor of FL is working on a bounty for catching these animals with a permit.

Stated purely in jest, but it's nice to hear that steps are being taken to actually allow it.
