im a bit confused about everyone apparently pairing so early, ive always paired in the spring after cooling with ball pythings, is late fall/winter pairing common and/or usefull?

Quite a few people pair them year round and produce clutches at anytime of the year. I tend to stop pairing around July-August and start again after the new year. Everyone eventually finds something they like that works for them. Just find yours and run with it.

year round...when the female is ready she will ovulate...I just had 1 clutch laid 2 weeks ago...I had 1 clutch hatch 2 weeks ago...I have 1 clutch due to be laid by late november and another female in ovulation right now...I had 1 clutch hatch in May....and 2 Hatch in September

I started earlier than usual this year...I have an imported female I've been trying to get eggs from for a few years now and she feels like she has follicles now. I think maybe I've been pairing too late in the year with her and that's why I haven't had any luck with her. I still have a few females I won't start pairing til later, but the ones I didn't get eggs from last year are being paired up already.

I started pairing last year in October and it worked well. This year I'm pairing them as they go off feed so I'm letting them tell me when they're ready. I'll let you know how it goes but I've already had two locks. Black pastel x het lavender and het lav to het lav.

I've already started pairing and just had a clutch hatch and another to be laid any day now..m looks like that one will be 2012 babies. So while my season is starting to come to an end. Another is beginning!

I start pairing end oct to begining of nov. I don't get eggs until about end of april to mid June and the seem to hatch about mid july

this is my first breeding season and my gal just hit 1501 grams so I couldn't help myself but to pair her up! She's locked four times in just over a month (I introduce him once a week). Both are still feeding like champs.

This is my first year but when the cool nights started here in South Central Pennsylvania the snake room cooled naturally in the evening/night time hours and warmed by day.My breeding size girls went off feed and someone suggested put a male to them,so I did and have been having locks for the last month or more.Obviously no eggs yet and I don't know what will be next but I feel the locks are a good sign.

Keep pairing them together to keep getting locks. You will eventually see the female go into glow and then ovulate once she sheds after that she will usually lay 30 days later give or take. Good luck.

Normally I would begin pairing in November also, but over half my females went off feed about the second week of October as the temperatures dropped here in PA. I figure I am about three to four weeks early this season from last season pairing dates. Last year I waited until mid November to begin pairing and only one third of my females clutched for me so this year I will find out if letting the girls tell me when they are ready is better than my holding out for traditionally held times to start pairing. This is my third breeding season and I am still learning with the help of many good forum reports just like this one.

Thanks for starting this one Ryan!

It would be interisting to have a follow up on this after the season.

Praying the best of season for you all!!
