Hey, I wanted to know if I can trust buying from Jim at Exotic Arc (http://exoticarc.com/). Has anybody done any dealings with him? Is he trustworthy? I can't find his last name and therefore am having trouble finding anything on him. I saw an ad of his on kingsnake.com and am interested in a snake listed. Thanks!

Jim is a great guy, great animals, and great prices. He holds a couple of the St. Louis, MO reptiles shows and started the St. Louis Breeders Expo about 15 years ago. You can trust him. It's hard to compete with his prices at his shows. lol.

Well Mike I didn't have the heart to look at the second ad but judging by the first one, can we say possible URI and/or mouth rot might be in the near future but I'm not vet just my opinion of course

I have got to ask bob. How do you in any way come to the conclusion there is the possibility of an uri or mouth rot in the future of those snakes by looking at the 1st 3 pics ??

I pretty much looked at the first pic, noticed a stuck shed covering the entire head, either that is white paint on the ground in several spots or urates, second pic shows a FRP paneling on the wall and the bottom is a dingy brown like it has seen better days.

There are many symptoms that can cause a RI, two of which is this case is a dirty cage which is not the best for the animal and may cause stress and the biggest problem is the entire head covered in a stuck shed which is causing plenty of stress. Have you ever wondered why some boas come to a round ball at the end of their tail? If stuck sheds were not pulled off in time, this becomes a free surgery called "amputation" (not really lol but call it what you want) and you get a little bit more of a stubby tail from the blood not being able to flow. So back to the stuck shed. Imagine 3 stuck sheds on a snake, it is practically squeezing to a point causing more stress, one of those parts being squeezed is the lips which can be very well be causing irritation on the gums. So stuck shed on lips affecting gums which is in the mouth, the mouth is where the teeth are so there it is. I'm not saying that one shed will do it cuz it won't but you leave three stuck sheds on and see what happens. hope the explanation clears it up.
