I just discovered this site on Cornsnake.com, and thought I'd add what little I have to offer:
I bought my second snake (first was a Craigslist "I'm moving!" thing), from EPLV via the kingsnake.com classifieds at the end of September. I was constantly going over the ads looking at all the patterns available, agonizing like crazy over them, when I saw one that I had never heard of before: a Mosaic Brooks. It was the most beautiful and original Kingsnake I'd ever seen, with a base that started orange on top and faded to cream on the bottom, with brown saddles in all kinds of random shapes throughout. I literally thought to myself, "That looks like a brown snake that's on fire!"
An e-mail got me another pic of her, told me she had a nice temperament and confirmed that she was still available, so I made the phone call to place the order. I hate talking to people on the phone, but this was completely painless. I even got a lower shipping price due to being only one state over, which I wasn't expecting.
She shipped the next day, arrived the day after, and was just as advertised. No health problems, no problems with the box, nothing.
If I had to come up with something to complain about, it would be that they took the ad down from the website super fast. Normally that's good, but I wanted to print out the ad and did not think of it ahead of time.
Pics:
1 - The pic I was e-mailed at the time, of her in her cup in the store. The original ad pic was lost with the ad, though to be fair both pics were basically the same thing (her in a cup).
2 - The day after arrival, 14" long IIRC (I never measured, I think that's what the ad said though).
3 - Five months after arrival, in February (hadn't grown much at all at this point).
4 - A couple days ago. She's about 2' long, about 2 years old, and I've had her about 10 months. Still only pinky finger thick, and it's taken a long time to start growing (been giving her 3 pinkies every 5 days for a long time now...), but she seems to be doing so now. The orange has been turning into cream this whole time, though, and that makes me sad. I'm steadily losing the fire look that I was so taken with.
