    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Shipping Concerns

I recently purchased some monitors from AJ. They arrived this afternoon (01/03/07). In fairness to him, he was quick to respond to my correspondence and sent the animals when he said that he would. However, I specifically asked him to send them in an "insulated" box with plenty of heat packs due to the cold weather between New York and Colorado. I did this verbally as well as through e-mail. He assured me that he would line the box with Styrofoam and that it would be "no problem." When they arrived today I was stunned to find the cardboard shipping box was NOT INSULATED whatsoever! The five medium savannah monitors were packed together in one knotted pillow case with shredded paper inside the box. Inside were two COLD heat packs. The animals were ice cold and not moving. Fortunately I was able to bring them around after bathing them with warm water for about an hour. Hopefully they make it.

We might do well to remind ourselves that these animals are not just commodities to profit from, they are life that we have chosen to become responsible for. A little extra effort might well be the difference between life and death.

If his business practices and ethics are "stellar", why is Mitch still waiting for his money after MONTHS? And why is he shipping reptiles, in the middle of winter, in UNINSULATED BOXES???? He's been in this business more than long enough to know better than that, and shows just how little concern he has for the well-being of the living creatures he is peddling. That is absolutely inexcusable, IMO. :angry:
 
Just to slide off the subject for a minute. Marc next time you get any type of reptiles/amphibians and they come in cold do not bath them in warm water or stick them directly into heated enclosures. Let the animals warm up at room temps for several hours this way there is a better chance they do not go into shock from extreme temp changes. Not trying to criticize you just trying to help :) . There is no excuse for not using insulated boxes this time of the year it's a no brainer :rolleyes: . Hope your monitors are ok.

As I've stated previously, I am only going to comment in this thread directly as it relates to my personal deal with AJ. As for the shipping, I won't pretend to know anything about this other transaction. Mine arrived similarly packed with an 18 hour heat pack and the weather outside of the transport van was mild and in the mid-50s...not bad for Oklahoma in December when the nighttime temps hadn't dipped below 45 all week with similar weather between here and NYC. If that part of my own experience had been less than adequate I would have mentioned it and listed any and all perceived faults. I'm sorry if you don't like my non-partisan stance on this, but I've learned that there are times when it doesn't pay to overstep and feel that this is just such an instance for me.

I'm a bit confused as to why it takes time to transfer funds from a credit card into PayPal. I have used my credit card card many times to pay for items using PayPal and it is generally instantaneous. Perhaps you can explain it to those of us who also are "CLUELESS". And while you are at it, perhaps you can explain your need to yell into the computer. Most of us can read quite well when you don't use the Caps Lock button.

I am just a little confused because the more I go to resolve the problem and explain myself the more I get dragged into the mud. I am electronically transferring funds to paypal so I can paypal his account and it does take somewhat days to transfer in and once it clears in, I simply send it his way. Im not screaming into my computer Jim, I am simply making it nice and clear so I dont have to post the same again another 10 times. After a while of posting the same thing over and over, it sort of gets annoying so I am making it nice and simple. Take care...

No, you haven't explained it at all. All one needs do is link the card to one's PayPal account and send the funds. As Ralph Kramden would say "Zip, zip, zip". I have been using PayPal since its inception. Perhaps you are taking a cash advance on your credit card? That would be different, but there is no need unless you are getting a better rate. If that's the case, then perhaps you want to pass that savings along to the other party who you are making wait for his money.

Anyone who reads this thread (as I have been), is likely to understand how PayPal works, and the fact that you could have paid immediately with your card, your claims to the contrary and your assertion that others are "CLUELESS" notwithstanding.

I am going to the show today and I know a few people who have paypal I will ask someone how to directly link the card to it. I have never done it that way, either they took my credit card info, or I logged in and sent them paypal. Or money orders for certain wholesalers. So when I get the facts straight, I will have it sent over immediately. Take care, I just wish someone could of explained this to me like you did as oppose to throwing things at me (Gino). I also did ask Mitch in an email about the matter and never got a response and came on here to see him post another comment of "still didnt get my credit", which didnt answer my question to quickly resolve the matter and only made things look worse. I will post later when I get back from the show, I was supposed to leave 10 minutes ago. Take care and safe New Year to all.

It takes several days to add funds to your Paypal account; however, that is not how you typically send money. If you have a credit card or bank account associated with your Paypal account, all you have to do is click the Send Money tab, not the Add Funds tab. You do not have to add the funds before sending money. I suggest cancelling the Add Funds request if it hasn't already cleared. All you need to do is click Send Money and go from there. Mitch will have his money in seconds.

Damn, you could have used some of the money that you stole from Mitch (and the gtp guy) to buy the insulated boxes.

Every transaction that we have seen from you has been a con. Oops, I mean a 'mistake' (chuckle, chuckle).
