In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Exotics Express ????????????

am sorry to report that I have. I recently completed a second transaction with AJ and found that I got burned on both. AJ was advertising "treated and feeding" Calabar Burrowing Pythons. Some of you may know that this is one of the animal that I specialize in. Getting them to feed is extremely difficult. Only about 1 in 3 will feed after capture in Africa and maybe 1 in 10 once here. AJ assured me that the animals, 1.2 and 4.4 were treated for both internal and external parasites and were definitely feeding. I pressed him on this several times. He assured me that he was obtaining them from a US-based source that has kept them for decades.

I paid for the 1.2, but they never fed and quickly declined in health. Before they died AJ sold me another 4.4. When I took delivery, I was suprised to find only six animals. When I immediately notified him(last week), he expressed shock and emailed me that he was getting a shipment and would fix all of this next week (this week). I never heard from him, so I sent him an email this Monday, letting him know that my patience was running out. Today, he finally responded.

To get to the point, when several died in quarantine shortly after receipt, I had fecals and by chance a sonigram done. I come to find that AJ was untruthfull in all his representations, to be kind. He now admits that "they were doing fine while in his possession, but never fed."

In recent emails, AJ now admits that he's new to "Importing" and that the animals were sold to him as "treated and feeding." He said that I should take my complaint up with his supplier. I tried to explain to him the liability that comes with selling and making statements and representations. He said that he understood.

I offered several remedies, so as not to escalate the problem:

1. Return my money in exchange for his freshly imported, non-feeding animals
2. Exchange my 11 for 11 animals as advertised
3. Issue a credit for any other acceptable animals that he's offering

He emailed back that he has no money, but would replace mine with new animals from the same source. His new animals were being offered, so that he can make some money. Can you believe this guy?

In my short time on this site, I have done many transactions both buying and selling. I have never run across this type of nonsense. As a collector with of over 600 animals, the money isn't as big a deal as it might be for others. Unfortunately, KS.com doesn't offer a BOI like this site does. Has anyone recently gone through this with AJ/Exotic Express

Just be on guard.

Thanks,

Mitch Behm

hmmm

Please search the BOI before you make Inquirys, so as to keep everything in one place and up to date! There was already another thread posted back on 2/16/06 by Tim Cole!

hmmm
I find the above statement interesting.
Are you actually suggesting people should not come to the Board of INQUIRY and post INQUIRIES?

Ummmm..........

That's not what she was saying.

She was saying that you should post in existing threads when they are present. All you need to do is use the search function and place your post into the existing thread.

I'm draigens husband. I was reading email and opened an link to this forum. I wasn't involved in the transaction over her boa. the snake was shipped postal mail and arrived cold after spending a day in tansit and overnight at the post office. It was a cute snake had the shape of a heart on one of the bands across it's midsection. The boa ate readily. The snake had mites and later i observed loose stool. seemed also to have had a bad shed and needed a soaking . draigen was very happy with the aqcuisition, i was skeptical about the snake's rough edges but the boa was alert and appeared viable.
The next morning after observing loose stool we found the boa had died. The boa has been here for about 3 weeks. I don't have any idea why it expired.
I have had a boa myself for about 10 years, had him since he was born; they seem to be fairly hardy animals since he's escaped a couple times and hid inside a car, and in some unknown location in the house for months at a time.
the end result of buying from the internet were dissapointing . I only mean to post the facts here , there was no autopsy and why this snake perished is a mystery to me.

Couple of quick points before your situation is addressed.

First, Welcome to Fauna!

Please read the rules at the top of this forum.

A full name is required on every post when posting on this section of the site. Since this is your wife's account, you may be better served by registering a separate account, so it is clear who is stating what.
Thank You.

hi!
thanx for the advice about that. i just got home from work and he told me that he had posted on here and he apologizes for not putting his name on, and is thinking about opening his own account. but, i pretty much agree with what he wrote on here, and i am very disappointed that the snake had expired(was about to give her another feeding). ya, it kinda made me weary of buying off the web, but i think the next we do, we will definitely do some heavy research before taking up a "good deal". i think this place is great and i wish i had happened upon it sooner, but then again there hadn't been problems at the time i bought the snake....*shrugs*

thanx!
