Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them.     Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Experience with KINGSNAKE Website

I was a Kingsnake member for many years and watched it grow to what it is now. It started out reasonably priced but got to be to way to expensive for the average hobbyist. My way of dealing with the politics there is simply NOT to support them. I haven't been a member there for quite awhile and don't plan on ever renewing. How do you like them apples. Jeff?

well except of course you and the others that felt the need to come on here in such an aggressive manner and defend a situation that they knew nothing about.

To say that Im a whiner when I got wronged by a company that thinks it can push people around and I decided to stick up for myself then to get attacked by people I dont know, I would have to ask and hope everyone else does, what your motives are.

Sorry I posted my frustration here in your little space, thought thats what this was for.....KS thought i would do what most people seem to do and just drop it. CC companies are a great way to do business because as someone just stated you can always tell them to dispute the charge if you feel wronged and if Pet Hobbyist really thought KS had a leg to stand on they would have disputed it, which they didnt.

I guess you guys live in a different world and everyone is guilty until proven innocent...glad I dont live in your world or play by the rules of people that scream and try to intimidate from a soapbox that we should live in that world.

Quite a hostile group here that felt the need for whatever reason to attack my credibility for no reason other than I guess you like the way KS does business and maybe you are friends with people there. I feel sorry for any younger kid that comes on here to complain and gets the kind of treatment that I have gotten from a few of you, and I stress a FEW...the majority felt the same way I did and shared quite a few stories similar to mine, many in private messages and I can see why with the treatment some of you people like to dish out.

So I ask, who is full of themselves? I think people on here can read this and make up their own minds...feels like arguing with children who throw logic, law and the american spirit right out the window and just spew draconian (look it up) nonsense. To come on and have a response like " well Im sorry he got his money back because he said we like to bend over.." after stating some nonsense legal reason why I shouldnt get it back, is comical to say the least. I think someone even claimed to be a lawyer??? Remind me never to hire you if Im in trouble. wow...

I feel great comfort in knowing that you people that come on here to make uneducated attacks are in the minority, thank god. I will now leave your sandbox and let you play with yourselves. Im sure there will be those that are angry at the fact that I got my money back..good...and I ask and hope others do as well, what are your motives? Please feel free to attack some more so everyone knows who you are....

I DID NOT BREAK THE TOS.....THEY MADE A MISTAKE...I SENT A LETTER ASKING FOR MY MONEY BACK AND TO CLOSE THE ACCOUNT, THEY CLOSED THE ACCOUNT AND KEPT MY MONEY.....THAT WAS THEIR WRONG...AND MY CC COMPANY DISPUTED AND PETHOBBYIST, NOT KS GAVE IT BACK...WHAT DONT YOU UNDERSTAND ABOUT THAT????

I do appreciate you at least trying to talk to me in more intelligent manner than some others here, but you keep saying I broke the TOS, which I didnt, and that I asked for them to close my account which I DID BUT ASKED FOR MY MONEY IN RETURN.....

Im trying to balance ignoring what this thread has become...and coming on and defending myself really only with you because you seem a but more level headed than some others on here. So I would like to spend the time with you so that maybe you read closely and understand what happened...not sure why this is so hard to grasp...

Yes KS does have to prove something if they want to keep my money, and Pethobbyist took over and gave the money back...maybe you need to take your own advise and read Mr Smitt's signature line...go read a law book.

You did break their TOS...three times. First, you posted an animals as jointly produced by you and a person they have banned. You have declined to produce that Email but I believe that is the way you described it.

Second, you reposted the same animal without mentioning the person's name. However, they had already made the determination that it was someone elses animal. Same infraction, second time.

Third, you sent an email that i am sure they found abusive and they yanked your account

You seem to want to claim this as a huge victory. Kingsnake probably intended to refund you all along. They have done it before in certain situations. I can guarantee you that the "pressure" your CC company put on them was not any sort of deciding factor. They probably did not think a dispute was worth the effort.

You walked in here with a chip on your shoulder Paul plain and simple. You caused this situation...not Kingsnake. You seem to be a reasonably intelligent person albeit a bit self centered. and self absorbed. You should not be having that much trouble absorbing this statement

Paul If your referring to me I have no beef with you. I have simply stated things the way I have seen them. Their terms of service are specific about forfeiting funds. You agreed. I never said they were right and you were wrong. I have never been a member of Kingsnake and seldom if ever browse their site. I learned long ago it was a site that I did not want any part of. I think a lot of us here felt put off by your arrogance.I am sorry you lost your money. Its not right to take someones hard earned cash under any circumstances. On a side note you do not have to defend yourself. You vented we replied. You said you were through yet you continue to post. Nothing good will come from continuing the back and forth. You got what you wanted. Your money.... Case closed

For instance, Pethobbyist OWNS Kingsnake.
Kingsnake/Pethobbyist don't have to prove anything. Your credit card company most likely gave your money back to YOU, NOT Kingsnake.
And that's a cheap shot you took at CriticalBill, knowing all the while he wasn't on here when you made that post. Shame, shame, shame.

I posted on the forum, showing off the snake and the litter giving Doug credit since he did the breeding.... NOT KNOWING THE BACKGROUND OF HIM AND KS..Ive never even met Doug in person... they pulled it due to using Dougs name...

After much research since they make it so hard to talk to a live person there....I found out the back story...they asked I didnt use his NAME...thats all!!!!!! They never said I couldnt sell a snake there cause he had produced it, and im shocked if they made a statement like that you would think that was just peachy.

SOOOOOOOO...when I posted the actual sales ad, I DID NOT USE HIS NAME...they pulled the ad stating I was SELLING SOMEONE ELSES SNAKE....a MISUNDERSTANDING on THEIR PART..I think you would have to know all the backstory behind Doug and them before you can really understand that they dont like Doug at all...not my business...and I really dont care...has nothing to do with me until they start effecting something that I paid for....

Brings us to my email to them...are you saying that you think if you challenge KS in any way you are breaking the TOS and they can rip you off??? I NEVER FORFEITED my money according to their TOS, NEVER .....find one line in my email that is threatening in any way...saying you might take legal action is not considered a threat in the business world...it is a way to let a company know they are in the wrong and you will take action if it is not taken care of to protect yourself......

the person that contacted Jeff on my behalf was even surprised that my money hadnt been returned because Jeff stated that he was planning on it...it never happened. I had enough and decided that I didnt care about KS anymore due to principal, and honestly dont care about the money...I wanted to make a point, so YES I did have a chip on my shoulders as far as KS goes...but I didnt have any ill will on here until I started being called a liar and people questioning my integrity and demanding proof...then when I showed proof, all I got was more attacks from people trying everything they could do to pick apart my story...I just ask why, what is the point and why such the aggressive defense of KS???

if every company just started shutting off services anytime someone complained or threatened to get a lawyer i wouldnt want to live in this country, thank god they dont follow your logic. we have laws for a reason and even laws are meant to be fought if they are against good moral principal...

I am more asking a question than making a challenge here but I have to wonder, if I do a breeding loan with someone that got banned from kingsnake, I cannot sell my half of the clutch on kingsnake?
As I read the TOS, you cannot sell on behalf of a banned person, not you can't sell your own snakes that come from the banned persons bloodline, or your own snakes that come from a private deal between you and the banned person.

As long as he corrected his ad to omit the banned persons name, I don't see where he violated any TOS. That is of course assuming the original posters statement that the advertised snake is his and his alone, is truthful. And I have already said my opinion is that the posters private email to kingsnake's mod did not rise to the level of abusiveness but I admit that is very subjective and just my own opinion.

I tend to think that kingsnake made an honest judgment call initially but I think they should have responded to the advertisers claims of sole ownership, rather than simply ban him and apparently attempt to keep his money without addressing his claim. In my opinion kingsnake did contribute to an escalation of the situation by basicly giving this guy the silent treatment while holding his money. Who wouldn't get mad if that was done to you?Maybe they needed time to review his claims. I could see them banning him while reviewing but then they should have informed him that they needed to do that. Or maybe they banned him hoping that they would get a reaction from him that would violate their TOS?
 
Jeff is president/CEO of OnlineHobbyist which is an umbrella site containing a slew of the other pet related sites: pethobbyist, kingsnake, etc. He is the original owner, but I think when he turned the business into a corporation he also had to set up a board of directors to be equally involved in the running of the business and the making of business decisions so it's not really just him anymore that is making all of the final decisions on how things are run over there.

You are the one who came here talking about how you wanted to threaten KS with a lawsuit and how unfair they treated you for it. You are the one that then asked people to discuss this matter with you, but then you get in a snit and cry foul when some folks actually had the nerve to question you instead of blindly just agreeing with everything you claim happened simply because you were talking smack about KS.

Im sure Im going to pay for this post....bring it on....Id love to have an intelligent discussion about this if that is possible, so far it hasnt happened...
