LIAR. There is a CONTACT link located both at the top and bottom of every page of that website where you can choose from a drop down menu any of the 2 dozen-plus staff departments to contact. You do NOT have to hunt around for an easy way to contact them because it is right there in front of your face already. Obviously you need glasses as well as a class on reading comprehension as you will need that for when you sign up for some other web site and agreed to follow their TOS.

Jeff Barringer' information I got from the better business bureau in Austin Texas and his company has a rating of F! He never responds to their inquiry which is typical of Jeff. I submitted my online order form that took my credit card number and never contacted me about it when I asked when it would be processed. This is credit card fraud and he should not be selling t-shirts and other items online using credit cards or checks. He is stealing your information. I filled out a complainant with Texas Attorney Generals Office online after speaking with and agent for them. www.texasattorneygeneralsoffice.gov and went to consumer and then to file a complaint about not receiving communication after they got my credit card number. Jeff's information is Onlinehobbyist.com,Inc. telephone:1-512-791-6536 he most likely will not answer due to he screens all his calls and they go to a message center. The better business bureau is not very good to get any investigatory action for credit card fraud or discrimination. The more people contact them they may shut down kingsnake.com for fraud and discrimination even though Jeff repeatedly claims it is a "private site" that he owns. Yes he owns it but selling to the public is not private!

I am not at all sticking up for Kingsnake.

But, I looked a little closer at the BBB rating published above. To me, after one looks at the facts, it is not as terrible as one might think. Upon investigation one sees that the rating is based on lack of info on the BBB's part. This is hardly the fault of Kingsnake. Also, there were in fact some customer complaints. Two. In that size operation, two is not a meaningful statistic. The BBB shows one resolved, by the way.

I'm all in favor of slamming those who do wrong. But this BBB stuff seems minor, just smoke and mirrors.

This is the BOI. If you are going after someone you deem a bad guy, show some real stuff.

Again, I am partial to Fauna and I'm not defending Kingsnake. But if you are going after them, make it more than some sissy complaint.

I agree with you, Lucille, but I think Paul's on to something. I have a similar and equally sissy complaint -- I've posted clean and legitimate questions in the forums only to have them deleted without any sort of notification or explanation. Once I had a fairly urgent question that simply disappeared. I waited days for a notification email only to finally log on and discover that some mysterious, hooded figure had deleted it at will. Sissy it is, but infernally frustrating! It's certainly kept me from shelling out 100 bones for a year's subscription. How am I to trust it?

Paul's complain is sissy and so is mine; perhaps neither alone warrant a rant. But I'm sure there are a lot of other sissy complaints out there too. Maybe if all of us sissies unite and be sissies together we can have a gigantic cry-fest and flood the gates of Kingsnake with our tears! Our sissy eyes will not be dried until our demands for an open, honest, and respectable online herpetoculture community are met!

In all seriousness though, it kind of already exists! It's called iHerp.com. The community is wonderful and very animal oriented; it's kind of like Facebook or MySpace for herpers and their collections. The professional version is launching soon and will include a classifieds section that, if the current site is any indication, should be absolutely stunning.

In the spirit of community, I made a similar announcement about iHerp recently on Kingsnake.

It was promptly deleted.

I have a response from the Texas Attorney Generals office regarding the consumer protection act. With regard to Kingsnake.com accepting credit cards and not returning the money or prorating it. Anyway I learned last time not to post information openly on the website since it is offensive to some people that love kingsnake.com. If you are interested in what the Attorney General's office had to say and you have had a problem relating to this issue, email me and I would be glad to pass the information on to you. Other than that everyone is on their own. Cheers and good herping

Hi Paul....They stole my money for basically the same reasons they did to you as well. We just need to get everyone on the Fauna bandwagon, get people to change their mindsets and make the transition.
