    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I have a one year old savannah male for adoption, kind of shy, but warms up in time. He needs a dental cleaning very badly, and neutered. I will waive the adoption fee if you would like your veterinarian to do these things. $300
I do not want to breed him because his teeth are already dirty, I dont want to pass this trait on.

Dirty teeth is not a result of genetics, nor can it be 'passed on' down the line. Its the result of poor dental care. Regular teeth cleaning, dentals, chews--yes, they make cat chews--all of these things can aid in preventing dirty teeth. It CAN cause health problems, if not addressed, but no, it is not something that other cats can inherit. As a "breeder" I would expect you to do your research and know of these things before deciding to breed anything.

dental disease in cats

I am an exotic animal veterinarian. Dental diseases often have a genetic component. I think the seller of this animal is being a responsible breeder and should not be criticized. If some "breeders" don't agree I would consider purchasing from a breeder that does.

lasergrl, if i were you i wouldn't sell the savannah. well, if it is an african savannah cat, because they are great pets once they are older. they can get along with most cats. awesome pets!

The responsible thing to do was for me to neuter him, which I did. He has had a dental cleaning, and 7 teeth needed to be extracted. They just fell out when they pulled on them. His gingivitis is so bad that they couldnt even suture the holes closed whre the teeth were. Keep in mind he is only 1 year old. Gingivitis this bad is most definately genetic. This site is full of the most know it allsI have ever seen. I WORK at the vet clinic. He has seen the internal medicine specialist, and all four resident DVM advised breeding him was not a good idea. Do you think I want to throw away $3500? Yes, that how much they cost. It wasnt a brash decision. His dental and neuter was an additional $1500.00.
I have been working with pure and hybrid exotic cats for years, I am a registered exotic feline handler with the FCF, and have gone to much continued education I cant count the hours. So thanks for telling me I need to research before I breed. We NEVER know it all!
So he is available. he is very shy and needs a very gentle and patient owner. He will make someone a lovely pet WITH TIME. And his adoption fee is lowered to $100.

Good reply. I think you are doing the right thing and people who don't know about medicine should not be judging!!!
