In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hello Fauna Family,

I am getting ready to set up an auction for a female paradox albino, we are donating the funds from the sale to Caroline Catron who is a mother of two and has been diagnosed with a second brain tumor in just eighteen months. Caroline was diagnosed with the first tumor when she was three and a half months pregnant, she refused to abort the pregnancy to undergo treatment and delivered Eian her healthy baby boy and then began treatment. The first tumor is gone but a second tumor was found on her brain stem just three months ago and the family is in financial need due to losing one income and her husband having to give up hours at work to be with her and their new baby during her treatments, tests, and many doctor visits.

What I would like is your help in scripting the auction itself. What I have listed below is the beginning of the write up for the auction and the parameters thereof if I have missed anything that should be here or need to add more information do not be afraid to tell me. Please give me your opinions/assistance in making this a success for the Catron family. Also, note I have not added the pictures for this post as they will be added to the auction at that time.

Auction Title: Female Paradox Albino BP, Benefit Auction for Catron Family

The proceeds of this auction will be given to Caroline Catron age 32; she is a mother of two and has been diagnosed with a second brain tumor in just eighteen months. Caroline was diagnosed with the first tumor when she was three and a half months pregnant, she refused to abort the pregnancy to undergo treatment and delivered Eian, her healthy baby boy, and then began treatment. The first tumor is gone but a second tumor was found on her brain stem just three months ago and the family is in financial need due to losing one income and her husband having to give up hours at work to be with her and their new baby during her treatments, tests, many doctor visits, and lots of home care.

As you can see in the pictures, this auction is for a very collectable snake as most paradox animals stay in the breeders collections. I am making this female paradox albino available to the highest bidder shipping is included in your bid so please remember that when you are bidding there is no extra charge for shipping it is included in your bid! This girl weighs (current weight will be added here) and was born on 08/14/2012. She is eating live hopper mice and has fed five times with no problems.

This is a no reserve auction and the bidding starts at $250.00, please bid in $10.00 minimum increments.

I will ship through SYR, the first Monday after payment is received. Method of payment is USPS money order only. After the auctions close contact me via PM here on Fauna and I will give you my address for sending payment.

This auction will end (date and time here). If you have any questions please pm me and I will answer in as timely a manner as possible.

Thank you for your bids.

Richard,
The "soon to be listing" looks great as is. It gets the point across just fine in my opinion. Makes me want to see the snake after that. Any pics?

I agree. What you write will not change the bidding at all. It's a quality animal and that is what will bring the bids.
I will say to take the best possible picture though. I think a great looking shot helps catch the eye. All black background, glass if possible; it will make an Albino pop every time.

Great luck on the auction and I applaud you for doing it.

The only other thing I would say is remember to say what time zone the ending time will be in. If the auction ends at 8:00pm Eastern time, just remember to say that so our Pacific, Mountain, and Central friends are all on the same page.

You can also look into "extended" or "overtime" rules.

Say the auction ends at 8:00pm Est time. Whoever has the high bid at 8:00 must hold that high bid for 5 minutes. (8:05pm Est.)

IF someone were to bid anytime between 8:00pm and 8:04pm then they would have to hold the high bid for 5 min. This would keep going until the high bid was held for 5 minutes. Many people feel this gives everyone a very fair opportunity to get the snake and it will in turn give you a chance to make a little more money on the sale. I've seen many auctions that end up in a bidding war after the actual end time and earn quite a bit of extra money.

Just a thought. If you have any questions on this please feel free to send me a message. I'm sure it can be explained better lol.

Wow!, First let me say thank you for all the encouragement. I lost my internet connection after putting this up so this is the first I could look at the post and I hope it stays up.

Thank you Robert, I have pictures from when she hatched and after reading Amanda's posts I am going to try to get a friend to take some good pictures this weekend. I will drop one in that I took at the bottom of the post but remember it is not professional and my photo skills stink. She has two paradox patches one small one on her neck and the larger one on her side.

Thanks Amanda, your advice is really appreciated and I am going to try to do the photos like you suggested.

I agree, pics. I LOVE paradox albinos, when is this auction going to be?

Well Bill as I am typing this my internet went down again so with any luck I will start the auction on Friday September 28th and end on Saturday the 29th at 9:00pm Eastern.

Write up looks good.

I agree that a good photo(s) is a must. Try taking in natural light.

Thank you Melissa, I am going to try to get my friend to take several photos in different lighting and use the best ones.

That is a good point Amanda, I forgot to mention the time zone thanks! As for the extended /overtime thing I am having difficulty with Verizon keeping my internet up so I think just a straight auction is going to be my best bet for now but that sounds like it could get interesting!!

She's really gorgeous and unique! What a stand up move auctioning her off for such a commendable cause.
I don't think you'll have any problems with her, she should do great for you.

The only other thing I would think about is good advertising. Put out the word and try and show her off and talk about the auction as much as possible before you actually do auction her off. More people = more bids.

I wish you all the best Rev!

Auction is up and running!

Well I started the auction today and it will end Tuesday Oct. 2 at 9:30 pm eastern time. I did not get my friend to take pictures as he was away in Vermont for the leaves changing. Verizon has also been giving me fits and I hope that is worked out finally. I really do not know how to advertize but hope things go well. Thanks for everyones help in getting this up and going!
You are a blessing!

Hello Preacher, may I ask why the only form of payment you accept is a money order?

Let's not use this thread as an extension of the auction - even posting here that the auction is up can be considered inappropriate advertising. Any questions pertaining to the auction need to be addressed there, or privately.
