I think this is just sad. Young people lack the same kind of judgment that many adults have, but even in grade school kids are taught to mind their manners and their mouths. This kid has managed to really hurt his future, because there are a lot of folks here willing to give time and information to up and coming reptile owners. Being a mod is sometimes a tough job, with a small group of people always trying to diss you in inappropriate ways. Why? I dunno, maybe to elevate their own poor self esteem. Like a hunter who might feel more of a sense of accomplishment when taking down a tiger rather than shooting a squirrel, some people get a charge out of calling the mods names, I guess. They don't realize that the mods here give their time so we can all have a decent place to come talk about reptiles.

oh my god i read all of the past postings and what all led up to this situation and i am very discusted with that child. the poor boy needs a role model i know the whole im just a kid thing is old but he is. he hasnt had to grow up yet and one day life is going to punch him in the face and leave him in the cold

true sometimes i think that the people here go a little overboard with some things like how you choose to post or telling you that you shouldnt use the fonts or colors, and i have not had much luck selling any of my stuff yet but the people here that help to run this site are far from scrubs or guilty of butt piracy lol. i think that if you are mature and calm about any isue here it will work out and you will eventually have success. that is why i am working on becoming an active contributer here. and i love that there is a way for us to be rated by our customers and peers via B.O.I. it keeps things much safer for buyers and sellers than it would be if everyone was going on trust alone. and as for the trash talk. not nescacery no mater what the isue. well handled Rich

I really only come to the BOI and I even had some regular member give me hell for posting something in the wrong format. Dont know if it was a mod. I wish people here would loosen up, and be a little more friendly to new members. For some reason they see new members as total reptile noobs.....New to the forum doesnt mean new to reptiles.....

I have to agree with him on this..... I was kind of turned off by a few threads, and I have alot of friends that feel the same way. I really only come to the BOI and I even had some regular member give me hell for posting something in the wrong format. Dont know if it was a mod. I wish people here would loosen up, and be a little more friendly to new members. For some reason they see new members as total reptile noobs.....New to the forum doesnt mean new to reptiles.....

Every site will have problems with some members being overly ambitious or overzealous, even if they really have no authority to be that way. Some even maliciously so. All we can do is try to keep an eye on them, and when the benefit of the doubt has been exhausted, show them the door. I probably have more tolerance than most people in that department, but my patience has finally worn thin enough that I don't wait quite so long before giving them the big flush down the drain. I used to think that some people could someday finally learn and fit in, but not any longer. So bear with the cleanup, please. It's not as easy as you would think to do.

But the BOI really has to be a bit rougher than most other forums on other sites. Bad guys just can't be handled with kid gloves if you want to get to the bottom of things and try to wrest the truth out of them. The methods sometimes get kind of ugly, but when push comes to shove, it's the results that really have to count.

I think the BOI Moderators do a bang-up job here, (for what they have to deal with)

All of them have day jobs, breed/raise reptiles, and still have the time to babysit us! LOL!

These are both very good posts. It's not easy being a moderator of any forum. You will either be portrayed as the good guy or the bad guy regardless of what happens cause some people view things differently. I visit the BOI to get information about breeders/etc. I have seen some of the posts get heated, but all in all, I think the mods here a darn good job considering the bs that happens between the members. So keep doing what you're doing because obviously you're still here and the forum gets good reviews as well as it continues to get recommended
