    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

FaunaClassifieds upgrade now in progress

Sorry guys. Had a doctor's appointment this morning, then when I got back home my computer was dead. Turned out to be a memory module that went kaput. But now I'm behind schedule getting the batch of baby corns cleaned and fed for today, so not much I can do here right now.

Off the cuff, my programmer said I need to upgrade the PhotoPost stuff because they are no longer compatible with the upgraded system. I believe he changed the front page, but I haven't even looked at it yet.

I also saw a post where the BOI Good Guy section is all whacked out. I changed the code in there myself to sort the threads by thread topic, so my programmer didn't have that on his list of mods to take care of.

The system seems slower to me, but may be just because I am just coming out of a real PISSED OFF mode when I found my computer was dead..... :willy_nil

If you find any problems, please note them in this thread so I can keep a running list of them.

Ah, one thing I just noted... No spell check button. Can't have that, now can we?

"Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /home/fauna/public_html/forums/includes/logician_include_send_pm.php on line 60"

This problem with the thumbnails being displayed should also be fixed now.

It appears I am no longer allowed to upload attachments to threads, I'm over my limit. I currently have 2.51 MB of attachments. Something else I don't like about the new system.

Sorry, but it was time to move on to a different front page style.

As for the attachment limit on threads, there is NONE. I'm not sure what it is you are seeing.... :shrug01:

This looks like a code line designed to send a pm to my programmer. He is probably still doing some debugging of the code at this point.
 
As I am navigating around, it seems that a little myspace ingenuity has been added. I guess it is a good thing here as a lot of the new forums are putting their sites together to be like this, a little step ahead is better than behind. I am not a fan of myspace, but I can see where this may help Fauna out a lot.
 
There have been quite a few bells and whistles added to the profile section for each member. I haven't even begun to look at much of it.

Actually this new version has a rather interesting application for tags that I'll go into later when I have more time.

Just a FYI, the warning system is gone. Which means, of course, all of the warning points accrued by members has been wiped clean.

There is a new native system (meaning I don't have to have it custom coded) in this upgrade called the "infraction system" that will be implemented as soon as I figure it out and customize it for this site. But for those members who were getting close to the edge, you are off the hook and can start fresh. All I am asking is that you help make it easier for the mods and myself to run this nuthouse. We dislike making and enforcing rules every bit as much as you may dislike having to abide by them. So let's make life a bit easier for both sides, OK? Please?
 
I have to upgrade the PhotoPost modules for this site (photo gallery, photopost classifieds, and reviews). It doesn't appear that anyone has used the review section since I set it up (http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/reviews/index.php). It still seems to be running under the new upgraded vbulletin code, so unless it gets used here, I will just plan on moving it to another site to see if it gets any use there and then pay the upgrade fee. No sense throwing good money after bad with it here. :bandhead0
