In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

From KelliH in the movie thread:

Oh yeah, Heavy Metal is a great flick. I haven't seen it in several years. Pink Floyd - The Wall is another one I always liked back in the day.

Now I am a product of the 70's and 80's music era (what is now called "Classic Rock" don't I feel old) so I thought I would have everyone kick in their memory of what are their favorite groups or singers. I will admit that mine go towards the heavy side but all groups are great.

For me: Led Zeppelin
Bachman Turner Overdrive
Alice Cooper
Pink Floyd
Foghat (my first concert)
Three Dog Night (my first album)
KISS (who's ultimate last tour will be them in coffins in makeup)

I know there are many more so lets tickle everyones memory.

Beatles Forever!
The Who
Bob Dylan
Beck
Nirvana
Rush
Smashing Pumkins
Led Zeppelin
Pearl Jam
the Grateful Dead
Hendrix
Interpol
HIM
Prince
Willie Nelson
Loretta Lynn

Well, I could go on and on, but those are a few of my faves.

No words are necessary...

A couple of newer bands I really like are Hinder and Nickelback.

I like some different stuff too...Prince is one I listen to every so often (quit laughing)...and even some country when I'm in the mood, like Travis Tritt or Garth. Jazz is nice on occasion, though I really don't know a lot of it by name. Steve Miller band is cool.

There's really not much I won't listen to, except (C)rap. I just fail to see the talent there.

This is a very hard catagory for me to just drop a few names and groups. I love music!
With the exception of rap (and even then there are just a few) and depending on my mood I can listen to almost anything.
If I had to pick a time the 70's and 80's would be my fav, having kids also allowed me to know some of the newer bands.
And at the risk of being boo'ed I also liked a lot of the "bubble gum" music!
For the record, Air Supply is awesome! :yesnod:

I have to make an appearence in here...

I love music!!!!! It is one of the only things in the world that you dont need to survive, but everyone loves. When you talk to someone about music you never say "do you like music" you say "what do you listen to", or "what kind of music do you like". I like a wide variety of stuff, but mostly different kinds of rock/metal.

IRON MAIDEN (only seen them twice, but wow what a band)(If you didnt know I was a fan by now, you do not know them well as all my signatures are always maiden lyrics)
Black sabbath (O.O. and RJD)
Dio
Nightwish
Bloodbath
Cradle of Filth
Old Metallica
AC/DC
Kiss
Motley Crue
GNR
Scorpions
Journey
Fleetwood Mac (I had a crush on Stevie Nicks when I was like 11/12 lol)
Survivor
Rob/white Zombie
Godsmack
Pantera
Disturbed
Green Day
Offspring
STP(lets hope those reunion tour rumours are true!!!!)
Velvet Revolver
PM5K
Dope
CCR
John Mellancamp
Motorhead
Megadeth
Anthrax
Korn(although they are losing their touch:( )
Stone Sour(although I hate slipknot, its mostly their drummer Roy, he is incredible)

I know I am missing so many great bands, but this will give you an idea of the kind of stuff I listen to. Take care all as always, Dan M.

I forgot....

I actually forgot Alice cooper, which is funny as he used one of my snakes on stage in CT once lol. He came through back in July of 2004 I believe, and his female Albino burm of about 8 feet ate her heating pad. He brought her to the rescue I volunteered/worked at. She needed surgery and was beyond anything we could do, but our vet did a great job on the surgery. He needed a snake for the show that night and used my female Yellow anaconda of about 7 feet at the time. She was such a doll, but she kept pushing the microphone away from his face, and as all anacondas do taking his breath away here and there. It was quite amusing, and we all had a good laugh about it after the show when I went back to pick her up. He was a very nice guy and payed for the surgery on "Alice"(the albino burm) as she was named from that point on and she was retired to life as a pet. I know some of you may think it was risky sending an Anaconda on stage, but we had the two friendliest females you have ever met, and they were both used hundreds of times in educational programs ect. Unfortunately in April of 2006 as my funds diminsihed I was forced to sell the female yellow, and she went to a breeder in either Illinois or Indiana, and as far as I know is still there. Sorry to get a little off topic, just thought it was a cool story. Have a great day, Dan M.
