In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Yes you read right, this is a very good guy post for Fedex, always believe in credit where it is due and today they went above and beyond to resolve a sticky situation!

So without going into too man details, I had sold a total of 3 snakes to a guy named Alan in Walpole, Ma, all done here on Fauna.
We agreed on shipping the 15th for delivery early am 16th March.
He sent me full name and address and off they went to Fedex facility.
Tracked them about 10am this morning and horrors, it said delivery exception, incorrect address.
Checked the info Alan had sent against my copy of the label and it matched so called Fedex to see what was the issue.
A nice lady looked into it and told me the zip did not match the town even though that was the info the buyer had given me. I explained these were live animals and how could we get them to the right place today?
She said she was sending message to the center they were at now and somebody would call me back within 2 hours, well shoot heard that before right?
Started to send an email to Alan but before I could even finish it phone rang and it was Fedex center, again a very pleasant lady who explained that the zip was wrong( I verified with a zip checker that she was indeed correct) but she was mystified why the system did not catch it on label creation as it should have identified the issue right there and then. She then said it was unlikely it would now get there today, I explained the live animals and she said she would see what she could do.
Five minutes later she rang back to say she had passed it onto her counterpart at the Fedex center it should have gone to to see if she could help.
Ten minutes later an extremely pleasant young lady called Amy called from the other Fedex center who said she had already called and spoken to Alan and that Fedex was organising a special courier to collect from the wrong center and drop off to Alan within 2 hours. To say I was stunned into silence was an understatement of epic proportions! I expressed my extreme delight at this and thanked her for going above and beyond and the animals were indeed delivered at 1.25pm today.

Yes I know Fedex has ruined a lot of peoples days...lol, but today...they outdid themselves!

Thank you Fedex and Amy especially!

Every time I have had a shipping issue, Fedex has always gotten it resolved. I had a shipment of Rodents coming in, and it happened to be Friday when they were scheduled to arrive. Well, for some reason, the driver decided it was "unsafe" to leave the box on the porch. (Mind you, I was home, and didn't see or here anyone come up to the door, but there is always a chance I missed them) I got an email saying that they were going to deliver again by Monday, we could't have that with frozen rodents, so I called to see what could be done.

For whatever reason, the Rats were sent back to a ship center that was about 40 minutes away (instead of the one that is 10 minutes out) so I couldn't pick it up since I had to get ready to go to work. I told the Fedex Employee what the contents of the box were, so she said she would give me a call back in a few minutes.

5 minutes later, low and behold, I got a call back. She told me that they are going to head back and drop the package off on the porch in about 1 hour. So I went to work, and got a text from my neighbor that they came by and dropped it off.
This isn't the first time Fedex has been able to resolve an issue, so honestly, I really like using them, and they tend to go a long ways to get your package to where it needs to be.

I think FedEx is usually great, they always have my live animals delivered by 930am, no matter what the weather. There was one time where things went south. It was a couple summers ago and I was expecting an order of frozen rats to be delivered. My apartment is in Boston, so I was at the windows listening for a diesel engine and any sight on the delivery truck. Finally the driver arrives, but he ends up delivering a package to a neighbors house. My place at the time was designed like the NY Times building in Times Sq, and I am in the building looking out the left side at the package on my neighbors step. The driver leaves and I check my email and see the package has been delivered. Oh no. I get out my binoculars and look at the package across the street. Yup, has a picture of a rat on it. Awesome. Ran out and pretty much looked like I was stealing things of my neighbors porch. Cannot imagine some 20 something cosmopolitan yuppie opening that up.
Anyways, I call FedEx just to let them know what happened, no harm no foul, just want to clarify my address for future deliveries. I got some woman who basically said "yeah, but you got your package right? So whats the problem?" I was a little speechless, then told her to go F herself. Hung up and I get a call back, which I ignore, and the vmail was this woman pissed off trying to rectify the situation. I never called back, figured she did not last there too long. Besides that FedEx has always been good.

I work for FedEx Ground (loading the trucks in the very early morning, not driving) and I am glad to see so many people happy with them.

I don't have any stand-out praise to offer, just my pride in my company.

Being the moron that attached wrong zip (was for a town I use to live in) ... I couldn't have been happier or more relieved that this was resolved as quickly and pleasantly as it was :) Kevin is a fantastic person to do business with .... very professional, helpful, customer-friendly, and truly concerned with his animals ... as I am as well. FedEx and their communication with me and their part in making this possible indeed deserves all these praises .... and certainly this good guy thread!

Thanks so much Kevin for my fantastic "kids" and my sincere appreciation to FedEx for their professionalism and willingness to go above and beyond :) Due to both of you ... I now have three new additions that are healthy and happily settling in!

I agree, I've had mostly positive interactions with FedEx, although I will admit that giving FedEx a review is more at the local than national level. FedEx here in south Georgia has always treated me right, but the facility up in Grand Forks, North Dakota, gave me substantial problems. The FedEx driver here in Georgia was so eager to see what was in the box that she waited for me to open it. Even though she didn't like snakes, opening a super phantom yellowbelly has a lot of bling factor associated with it, and she thought it was pretty even though it tried to bite me. ;-)

I'll just leave this here... (Everything arrive fine eventually)

Lol, thanks for the kind words Alan
Nice work by Fedex to make us both happy campers
Enjoy

Given the thousands of reptile packages sent with FedEx each week, they do an outstanding job of getting the packages delivered across the country and on time.

Exceptions do happen, and when there are crazy storms in Memphis, it causes chaos, but they work hard to remedy such situations, and as live reptile shippers, we are lucky to have their services!
