    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hi guys! So, it's just about time to feed my new baby pastel yellow belly girl. I what size you recommend. She's just a tad under 50 grams. I've heard different things, including that you should feed 10% of their weight (which, in this case, would be like a 5g fuzzy) but the guy at the shop said they were feeding her hoppers (which to my understanding start at around 7g). What should I do?

Also, if any of you have any recommendations as to online places that sell frozen mice for pretty cheap, let me know. I'm a n00b to all this, so feedback is appreciated. Thanks!

Most breeders start theirs on live mouse hoppers. After the baby is eating well they switch to live rat pinkies or pups, and then to frozen/thaw feeders.

I feed mine once a week.
 
For one snake, I can't recommend purchasing rodents online. With such small food items (mouse hoppers), they'd freezer burn and become inedible long before you used most of the bag. Also, shipping far exceeds the actual cost of the rodents. Really the only option available for small numbers of frozen rodents is to go to the pet shop. You'll spend a lot more per rodent, but in the long run probably save money if you just have the one snake to feed.

I suggest doing a search on your local Facebook pages to see if anyone breeds rodents locally. Feeding live at first is fine, converting a readily feeding snake to frozen/thawed rodents isn't as hard as people think.
 
I'd recommend using small mice for that size. Chances are you may need to feed live for a while until he gets used to it. A lot of babies tend to get started on live, personally I feed all my babies F/T but it's a hassle to get them all going
 
At this age, if the snake's hungry, I generally let them eat. That generally equates to once or twice a week, depending on the size of the snake and the meal.
