In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I am curious to know if theres a way to tell if she has had enough to eat she was misstreated and i have had her for 3 weeks and she will eat nonstop . about 9 feet and 65 pounds . thanks for any and all your help scott

I have been out of burms for some time but, unless my memory is off, 65 pounds is overweight for a 9 footer.

(Basing that on two specific weights that I remember, for whatever reason: a 9 ft male that weighed 30 lbs, and an overweight 12 ft female that weighed 80)

Burms never have enough to eat, they are a garbage disposal. They seem to be the most obese of the snakes I have seen out there, just because they love to eat does not mean they have not had enough.

What are you feeding her?

i fed her 2 medium rats monday they lasted maybe 2 minutes thats all i could get then wed. i fed her 2 xxxx- large rats they lasted 2 minutes also . i just want to be sure a burm that size gets enough to eat.
scott

i have allot of burms and yes all of them are garbage disposals they eat and dump that is all(well now i have them breeding the last two years but anyway) my largest female is 17 1/2 feet and weighs in at 95 pounds and because the season is coming up she is good at that weight because she will go off food here soon my biggest male is pushing 13-14 feet and he also weighs in at around 95 pounds he is overweight we tend to spoil him a bit because he was a rescue he deserves to eat what ever he wants. but to answer your question i have seen burms eat their length in food i have seen a burm have a rats tail hanging out of it's mouth still and be looking for more.if she is truly 65 pounds at 9 feet you may want to cut here back to feeding every 2-3 weeks also at 9 feet she should be OK for rabbits. but i think you should most likely weigh her again because i think you would see that she was quite plump because a 9 footer shouldn't be more than 25 pounds.just my opinion hope it helps.

sorry thought i would show my big girl off a bit and the last pic is of our rescued boy i spoke of he is a great snake now with great attitude it took allot of work but he is a prize.

you're not really trying to tell us that that is supposed to be a 17 1/2 foot burm, are you?

the female in the cage with me fully stretched and string mesured is now 17 feet 7 inches i was told that is the only acurate way to messure her so i took her out let her crawl down the hallway and started the incredibly fun task of trying to messure her we did this 4 times and 2 out 4 times came up with 17.7 the other 2 were 16.8 and 17.3 so yes the female pictured is now 17 feet 7 inches

I hope he would know how long his own snake is. I have known Sam for a couple years now and don't think he would lie about it. I have seen pics of Daisy grow over the last few years. Even if he is within a foot of that length I think at this point would it really matter? 16-17 foot mark is an impressive specimen either way.

For whatever reason, when I initially posted my response, only the first picture was showing (well, the albino was there too...but I was only getting the first of the normal). The shot with him sitting/sqatting in the cage makes the snake look significantly smaller than the stated length.

Not wanting to drag this out further by trying to justify my doubt, I'll just apologize and let this resume its natural course. I really wasn't trying to start a pi$$ing match.

That cage must be huge!! 4x4x??
