• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

  • IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ!! About the Google Adsense ads being displayed

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

SOLD!! Female Pied - $350.

Nah I don't argue over the internet. To childish and corny also it was never meant as a stab at the mod. It was a comment stating no reason to get nasty and belittle new members for trying to help. Thanks

I'm going to have to mark this thread so i can find it again. If anyone wants to know why I locked classified ads to replies, this is a perfect example to answer that question. And if this sort of stuff keeps up, it very well could come back again to locking these ads to replies from ALL members this time.

To those persons claiming this was a "scam", what evidence did you base that proclamation upon? Sorry if the evidence is so blatantly obvious to everyone else but me, but I don't see it. All I am seeing is wild guesses bordering on maliciousness.

In any event, I can see where I'm going to have to create at least one more infraction so the mods can put a halt to the people who have nothing better to do than to try to disrupt someone else's sales effort. I want to try dinging the members engaging in this disruption first before considering locking classified ads again.

As for acceptable procedure here, if someone has and can provide EVIDENCE of a scam, then those thoughts need to go into the Board Of Inquiry and then a link back placed into the ad. If you have NO evidence but only an unfounded guess of an opinion, then this has no place in a classified ad thread.

The Board Of Inquiry has certain rules in place that are NOT in place in the classifieds section that I insist be utilized in these sorts of discussions on this site. The classifieds sections WILL NOT become an offshoot of the Board Of Inquiry. EVERYTHING posted in a classified ad post can be easily deleted by the original author. I believe all replies can be edited by the respective authors as well. So evidence can be deleted or altered on a whim by the authors. Sorry, but that is not acceptable to me and I will actively take steps to end the practice.

What evidence? We have all seen scams left and right. Too good to be true prices, a 2012 animal that looks half the size of most 2012 animals I have seen. A person that signed up the day of their first posting, and their first and only post was a new classified thread, started by them. Anyone in the industry knows a high white female pied with reasonable size/age is the one of the best selling snakes, and has been for while. Surely the "seller" had to have known that since that is the animal they acquired.
What evidence do you have that this wasn't a scam?

So you are claiming that unless I can prove it is not a scam, then I should allow any and all harassment of new advertisers here?

Sorry you don't like my policy, but it is what it is. If you have no evidence, then posting your opinions in a classified ad without a referral to a Board Of Inquiry post will be considered as malicious disruption of a classified ad. I looked and don't need to create a new infraction as there is already one there that will suffice entitled "Disruptive posting in classified ad". It's a four pointer, so three of them and you are banned for three days.

It is NOT unusual at all for people to find this site and then register solely to post one or more classified ads. Are you suggesting a waiting period of some sort? Some sort of hurtles to jump over or hoops to jump through in order to be acceptable to post classified ads on this site? The easiest thing to do would be to limit ads to paying members only. I tried that. It got rejected soundly by the membership. So you get what you don't pay for. Literally. ALL registered members can post classified ads for free on this site, and quite honestly, unless there is an existing thread about them in the Board Of Inquiry, I expect them to be able to do so without being harassed by other members. A supporting BOI thread will tell all that needs to be said about the seller and/or the item being sold.

Sorry, but if this is not to your liking, then I have nothing else to offer you. You can either comply with my rules, not comply and get evicted, or find some other site with rules more to your liking. Well, I guess there is another option for you. Create your own site like this and see how you fare with your idea of how it should be run. But good luck with that.

This pied was posted on kingsnake couple weeks ago from a guy in New York, I know because I almost bought it. I tried contacting him today to find out if this was him posting, he said NO. I'm not going to assume that this is a scam, but the picture is not his. The guy told me he sold his pied couple days ago.

Size? There is no weight listed, so one can only guesstimate. Not everybody feeds the hell out of ball pythons to get them breeding ASAP; in fact, I would say that 750-800g is a reasonable size for a 2 yr old that hasn't been pushed (maybe even a little high).
New? Want to hazard a guess as to how many 1st posts are classified ads? Should we label them all as scams without any convincing evidence?
Price? Yes, the price was low. Maybe he needed money quickly, and $350 immediately was a better option than $800 in two days. Another price was quoted in the thread - which shouldn't have happened by the way - and that price was inflated, IMO. I purchased a pied female of that size for that same amount a few years ago...I know pieds have held their value better than many other morphs, but they HAVE dropped.

I saw this ad within an hour of it being posted. Yes, I considered it a possible scam; but I checked everything I could then stepped back to watch because there was nothing to justify comment.

The classifieds were reopened to responses by registered members in order to facilitate communication between buyers and sellers...not for people to make snide comments about pricing or speculate about the legitimacy of sellers. Prior to responses being prohibited, there was a general guideline for posting responses: It is okay to post if you are asking a question related to the possible sale/purchase of the item/animal advertised; if you are pointing out a perceived misrepresentation; if you are posting a link to a BOI thread. A carefully worded warning would usually be tolerated....but piling on in the manner that happened here certainly would not have been.

Rich - no need to create a new infraction...the Disruptive posting in a classified ad infraction is still there. It's a 4 pointer.

For anybody that doesn't know about the infraction system, a good way to get a feel for what isn't acceptable is to review the infraction list...and the points associated with each one. There is a thread that describes this stuck at the top of the Fauna Feedback Forum. There is also a stuck thread on the specific subject of the Disruptive posting in a classified ad infraction. Read them

No Rboy...he didnt say that snake was 750-800 grams he was stating that kind of weight range for a 2 year old animal is acceptable......reading comprehension....

Actually, you made the first implication of size, suggesting that it was half the size of other '12s you've seen...
Regardless, some of you are missing the point - this was a classified ad, and some of the participants in this ad crossed a line with their posts. Consider this a learning experience, since nobody received an infraction or got booted. If anybody would like to further discuss policy, please do so in the Fauna Feedback Forum. Given the circumstances, I'm going to ensure compliance with that - this one is locked.
