In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

OK, lets say you start having some financial problems such as vet bills, work problems, doctor bills, ect and you are in the middle of a payment plan or 2. How would you deal with it?

Something similar is happening to me and I'm in the middle of a payment plan. I want to try all I can but due to a couple new problems from the last 2 weeks, I don't think I can A. Finish paying for both of the animals and B. Afford my new rodent order I need since I had freezer problems causing all my rats to go bad.

What is your oppinion on it and how would you try and settle it without tarnishing your reputation?

Incase anyone wants to know what my situations are causing the problems, you can PM me but I prefer not to put it out on the boards are bore everyone.
Thanks
Jake

Jake, I can't help but wonder if it is already on the boards. Hit the new posts button and see another current post. If it's not the same situation it is so close that the same advice would apply.

I'd talk to the people I'm supposed to be paying, explain the truth in blatant detail, while apoligizing, and ask what would be best to them.
After all, you owe money to them, so it technically should be thier call.

Dennis. I really don't think this situation is that much like the thread you sent me. Just my opinion of course. What I am really asking is your "word" that you will get something done worth your animals well being? If something goes wrong, I will do all in my power to fulfill my end of the deal even if it puts me in the hole.
Wes, if I terminate the payment plan all together, I will get back 475$ which should be enough to get me back on my feet assuming I get a new job in the next month or so. If I drop off the more expensive snake, I will get back almost 200$ and that will be enough to get me enough rats for a month or 2 but I will still be getting another snake, one more fecal to pay for, one more rat a week, ect.

Just a frustrating situation and I really want to follow my word but I don't think it would be the best thing to do.

You're a smart kid Jake. Do what you think is right. I have confidence you'll make the best decision possible.

Would letting go other snakes in your collection be an option? Therefore, paying off your current purchases while reducing the number of snakes in your collection and allowing you to honor the agreement.

Wes, That means a lot to me, it really does.

If it comes to it, I may have to but there aren't any boas in my current collection that I can really part with. I'll just deal with it as it comes up I guess. I am just not to good at dealing with stuff when it comes at me like this. I think the best thing to do is get as much money back as I can and get me back on my feet as soon as I can.

Above all else, be honest and open. Don't avoid the people you owe money to.

Explain your situation and ask the people you owe for more time, perhaps add a few dollars on in the end for their inconvenience of continuing to hold animals.

I'm not sure it's fair to ask for refund for money already paid though. Perhaps future credit, but at this point isn't this why we take deposits anyways?

I don't know you, but believe Wes has given you priceless input too. Sound like a good kid to me that really wants to do the right thing. Good luck getting back on your feet quickly!

Well it seems like we have worked it out. instead of getting both animals, I will just be getting the lower priced animal which happens to be a hypo Sonoran. This should send me back enough money and with what I have, I should be able to get my rodents here.
Thanks for all the help and all I can say is that when these problems come up, they teach you something nobody and no school can ever teach you. Live and learn
