In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I ran across an ad this morning that had "Firebelly Redtail" as the discription. I'm curious if anyone's heard of this or better yet has a picture? Not really looking to buy (so didn't want to bug the seller) just curious as I've never heard of this before.

The term Firebelly, I believe was first used by Dennis Sargent and describes a bloodline/locality of Honduran Boas that exhibit bright red/orange ventrals.

I think i might have a firebelly either that or something else, i have a female 100% het for albino bci kahl line, i noticed all the belly scales turned a red orange color, after i got it from the seller.I purchased it from www.topnotchboas.com go to the collection section then to sold boas to see a pic of my het female. Now keep in mind this pic is old, it shows some of the coloring but shes got WAY MORE color now on her belly, kinda looks like a pumpkin lol.

Its the first female on the top of the page of the sold boas, i gotta run

if you are talking about one stop pet shop

I recently completed a deal with johnathan for what he was calling a mainland honduran firebelly he was honest and forthcoming about not haveing owned the snakes long and he never mentioned or implied it to be of the island locality. i purchased the snake on monday and recieved it on tuesday she was packeged and shipped correctly. although she is overly nippy she shed for me on wed and i was instantly satisfied overall a great deal and a great shopping experience
i hope this helps

the true fire bellies are from rotan... they are killer a few people have them out there... i believe rotan is an island of of honduras and they get VERY red, much more so than the mainland counterparts

true fire bellies are also from bahia island and yes the are quite stunning i used to own a trio purchased from dennis seargent but my old partner kept them those are the only snake he kept that i really miss and i cant wait till dennis produces them again so i can get some more

well he had originally sold them all but has recently reaquired a group of them i spent a hour speaking with dennis on the phone about them a few months back it will be awhile before he produces them again but im pateint

true bahia and rotans will cost around $300 each. maybe more i have not seen them offered lately and i would be very skepticle of buying them from just anyone

WELL THE LAST TIME I SAW

Rotans they were $800 ea. i believe i do know that true fire bellies for $300 ea. would be a great deal

Be VERY Careful when purchaseing Roatan FireBelly, since Dennis sold out it has really gotten screwed up.The mainland variants have been bred several times in the last 3 years to the once pure Roatan stock resulting in a truly sad state of affairs for the Pure Insular Roatan form.Dennis has recently purchased a 1.1 of Mainland/Roatan cross.Dennis never has supported the clear differences between the two forms so that doesnt help matters in a positive way.Future breedings from Dennis or anyone else of these cross's will only continue to dilute the very exclusive Roatan BCI ssp. There are a few people that own true Roatans that are just as freaked as I am over what is about to happen to this ssp bci form. Its been discussed on KS several times and some people just dont "get it" :bandhead0 I wished Dennis would come on some of these forums and answer both past questions as well as the certain exstensive future inquiries that will come once he attempts to market anything.

Its a matter of integrity

WELL i used to own true bahia island fire bellies (bellies being the plural form of belly not the nonsense you were spouting off on ks sslonestar) that i purchased from dennis about 4 years ago at the daytona expo and have since spoken to dennis about 3 months ago and he has told me that he has since purchased back pure bahias from his own original animals and from what he told me it was more than 1.1 so i really have no idea where you got your imformation from but if you include your full name i will gladly mention it to dennis as you being the one that is saying these things surely if your going to question dennis's ethics im sure you will have no problem including your full name

Sorry John, not the same(sslonestar) from KS,yes I know him,(he lives about 150 east of me) as well as 4 others in Texas that keep pure Roatan stock. Tommy has some awesome Roatans but retains all he breeds. What I posted is a common agreement statement if you will.Yes Dennis has some of the original "Harding" stock he first started with, but the mainland cross's he purchased from Phil B. in Daytona this year are not pure Roatan bci.
Bottomline is We Aint Buying It !

:smokin:

well seeing as you still havent included your full name i'll just assume that your just makeing unfounded statements! in the future if you care to question a established breeder like denniss' ethics and integrity you should really include your full name . the way i see it if your going to have the balls to point fingers have the balls to sign your name to it so that people will know were it came from! throwing anonymouse acusations around really dosent make you look more than just someone speaking out of jealousy and envy!

question about firebellies crossed w/bci

I have a question that may sound silly to some more experienced herpers. I have two boa constrictors that I bought this past year. My first purchase was for my husband, and she is now 11 months old. The second was a male, that is for me, and he is now 10 months old. Now, we have seriously started talking about getting into breeding the boas when they get older and mature, so I started looking at subspecies, as the female was listed as a "Columbian Red Tail Boa" and the male was from a mom and pop type pet store and listed as a "Red Tail Boa". When I got him, he was tan and had a LOT of pink on his sides and back half of his belly, but his tail isn't really a fire red. As he is getting older, this tan is turning darker and his pink is turning darker. Do you know any way of finding out a what subspecies he might belong to? His facial stripe looks nothing like my other snake's, but he has more than 22 dorsal saddles, and he has 52 caudal scales. After reading about these firebellied snakes, is it a possibility that he is some type of crossbreed? I hate to mix these guys up more than they already have been...lol If anyone knows of somewhere I can find this kind of info, could you please help?
Thank you,
