• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Do not under any circumstances purchase anything from First Choice Reptiles! They took my money for animals they didn't have in stock, took 2 weeks to reply to multiple emails, finally reported to PayPal and was refunded by PayPal, so I repeat do not buy from First Choice Reptiles!

Do you have any pictures of the correspondence showing dates and times?

Were these animals purchased through an automated website or did someone tell you they weren't in stock and there would be a wait for them?

If you got your money back, they technically didn't rip you off.
Based on what you've said so far, it sounds more like you just experienced very poor service, rather than fraud or theft.
Which is still not good, of course.

PayPal refunded him, not the company. So technically, yes they tried to rip him off.

I also made the mistake of ordering from First Choice Reptiles. (I know I should have checked first, but they were the only site I could find with crocodile skinks reportedly "in stock" and I was desperate) It's been three weeks now and they have yet to respond to a single email and their phone has been disconnected. Definitely not a reputable dealer.

If you paid by PayPal or credit card start a dispute.

Pay pal will refund the money to your account. It is as simple as that. The seller is losing customers and money. There is no need to angry or call names. They won't last long in any business without customers.

I can't find one anywhere! Any ideas?

Here is a new ad from this morning selling some. Any interest in buying from this person?

From a banned account? Probably not a good idea...
Correct. Scammers watch the "Wanted" ads online (here and elsewhere). They wait for people who appear particularly desperate, because desperate often can equate to foolish.

What kind of bait "ad" did this banned account put up? Exactly the one Haeli was scrambling to find. Had we not almost instantly banned that account, would desperation have led to common sense being tossed out the window?

The skinks will eventually become available, patience is a virtue at this point I believe. Desperation can attract unsavory folks, as it did in this case.
