In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Well came home today and to my surprise found 5 eggs in the tub. I noticed when I took them out to put in the incubator they were soft and a little undersized I believe. Should they be soft? Does it sound like they are no good?

When they are first laid they are soft. If you put up a photo people may be able to get a better idea of the size of them. If they are full and bright white they should be go to go. You can candle them to see if they have blood vessels in them too. Good luck

Thanks for the repy here is a pic of the eggs. They are just on the towel while I was getting the tub and mixture ready.

Well thanks that gives me some hope. THe one on the far right has a weird coloring and look on the end of the egg. I was thinking it was a slug but put it in the incubator just to see what happens

As everyone said they eggs are fine, the one is a boob egg.

I have yet to get a boob egg. I'm curious if some of the girls I'm waiting to lay will have one.

eggs look fine. I put liquid band-aid on the yellow part of the boob eggs. They tend to sweat more around that area. good luck with them.

Not looking good update

Well checked the eggs today and 3 of them have sweat marks on the top of the eggs. look moist the other 2 are perfectly dry. Can not figure out why 3 would be like that and 2 not. temp is at 89 degrees the Vermiculite is not wet, I can squish it in my hand and it will stay together with no water dripping out. Any ideas what is causing this? Shouild I remove the eggs with the moisture look on top or is it safe to keep them in there and see what happens? I candled them all as well and all 45 show veins.

Is water dripping on them from the lid, the condensation?? Wipe off the eggs to dry em off some. Pics maybe?

I thought about that but the underside of the lid is a little damp not dripping.I am going to get pics up. I should have described it better it looks like as if you had a water leak on your ceiling it leaves a grayish looking patch where the leak was. Thats what it looks like on top of the 3 eggs.
Will post pics tomorrow, gotta get batteries for the camera

Are the eggs high enough that they are touching the lid? You definitely don't want that. If there is any condensation dripping, elevate one end of the tub enough that the water will run to the end of the tub and drip where it won't effect your eggs.

Plenty of distance between lid and eggs

Sometimes despite our best efforts, an egg just isn't supposed to make it. I think the one in the corner by itself is definitely a goner with all those colors, but as long as its fluid isn't touching the others it shouldn't cause them any harm if you want to wait for definite death. Any funky smell in there yet?

The others might still have a possibility of saving them, but I don't have any personal experience with something similar to be able to recommend anything. I've heard of combinations of athlete's foot powder and possibly liquid bandaid to help them get through, but this early in the game it might be a losing battle to stay ahead if it's not water dripping on them or some other incubator issue that can be corrected.

Just wanted to wish you good luck!

I totally agree with Shadera; that egg is gone. And I can't tell from the pics, the condition of the others.
