Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I have had an egg incubating for 17 days now, and I would just like to get some opionons on whether it is fertile or not. The parents were given to me by a customer at work about 8 months ago and finally the female layed a single egg. Both geckos are about 2 years old and in good health. The egg was dehydrated (my mom didn't want to touch it while I was away), but I fixed that. Right now the egg has a dark spot clearly on the inside. The dot can not be seen when looking through the other side. It sort of looks like a comma with some veins off to the side. I'll post a super low quality pic for your viewing pleasure.

That egg is way infertile. From the pic it looks like it’s very yellow, collapsing and maybe even starting to grow mold. Fertile eggs will be nice and white, firm, and round. They’ll also feel like stale marshmallows. Sorry it’s not fertile. . .
 
it doesnt look good but hey at least shes started. maybe your next will be better off.
make sure you have an incubater or it wont matter whether theyre fertile or not.
a good thing to do is candle your eggs (in a dark room with a flashlight) you may not see much at first but as the eggs develop you will notice the veins and it will glow pink (just dont turn the eggs, right side up at all times)
 
Sorry but I agree it looks infertile, I have almost all first time breeders and had a lot of infertiels at first but the next ones are usually good. Good luck with the next clutches!
