    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Well it finally happened. I got my ball python out tonight and as I was saying goodnight to my girlfriend, the snake took a whiff of my finger and latched on. Now this was my first snake bite ever so I was caught off guard and a little surprised but she didnt let go for like 5 minutes or more, my girlfriend was no help at all, I asked her to uncoil the snake so I could get back of its head and pry it off but the wife wasn't havin it. Now the fact that she bit and coiled and would not let go leads me to believe that she thought I was food am I right? If it was defensive she would have bit and released right? All in all it wasn't that bad. It didnt hurt really at all until I tried to stick a pen in mouth to get her off then she turned her head and really screwed her teeth in. I was afraid off hurting her mouth with the pen and I couldnt get the back of her head cause it was covered by her coils so I just waited for her to let go. The thing that surprised me the most was how strong she was for a 32in snake and that when they have a hold of you there's no way you can just pull your finger out of their mouth. I have a whole new respect for the big snakes now. I know balls arent supposed to bite how many of you have been bitten by a ball?

I guess i trust my snakes a bit to much maybe. Shes always a little nervous but never defensive so I'm pretty sure she smelled something on my hand that appealed to her. Not her fault though, she might have smelled my girls chihuahua? My girlfriend was freaked right out so I washed my hands and got her back out like 2 minutes later and she didnt bite me but was smelling around alot more than usual like she was looking for food.

DOH! This discussion just took a turn! :confused: I'm subscribing to this thread just so I don't miss the explanation!!

LOL!

I don't know if a bite like that is associated with hunger or not. The only time I ever recieved a bite and coil was when I was handed a severely underfed skinny 5-year-old female that had been fed one mouse per month and was literally starving. Within 5 seconds, she turned her head and latched onto the fleshy base of my thumb, sinking her teeth in as deep as she could go and then coiling herself over her head so I couldn't get her off. I tried running cold water over her and she didn't let go -- she bit down harder as the blood flowed. Finally I had to stick my arm in the guy's freezer and touch her back to the side of it to get her off. I still have little pinprick scars, that's how hard she bit down. I hadn't handled anything before her, so my guess is that she didn't know me and felt defensive. That was well over a year ago and she is now over twice the size she was when I got her -- she still still tries her damndest to bite me and will make sneaky moves to achieve it.

I was thinking the same thing!! He has a wife, a girlfriend, and snakes. When do you ever have free-time. lol :willy_nil

No unfortunately (or possibly fortunately) I was refering to the same girl. Sometimes i refer to my girlfriend as "the wife". Probably because sometimes it feels like we've been married for f-n' ever.
