Pachistopelma rufonigrum – FIRST USA BREEDING BY SPIDERSHOPPE
The beautiful Pachistopelma rufonigrum is an Avic relative that lives in bromeliads in coastal northeastern Brazil. It has one of the most dramatic color and pattern ontogenies of all Theraphosidae. Immatures are simply dazzling and the pink/copper mature female has a doors-ventrally flattened abdomen as an adaptation to its life in bromeliad axils. This is a very rare spider and spiderlings from these first American breedings are a bargain at $90 each. Three sacs have been hatched and three males were used so unrelated young are available.
