    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

What is up with these "FLESH TUNNELS" as they call them turning up everywhere?? At the last white plains reptile show I saw one guy that had one of those flesh tunnel loops in his ear that was atleast 1 1/2" across. I saw no less then 10 people with them there. Is this a new trend now??


this is an example i found of a 1/2" flesh tunnel so you know what i am talking about.

Looks like someone was intoxicated and someone else got creative with a paper punch.
Imagine what could be done with some of those fancy scrapbooker punches, eh?
 
I just asked the oldest child (18 yrs) and he showed me just how many sites are on the web that sell these things, its unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!! It seems like this is a very popular fad. Plus i told him i would disown him if he came home with them in his ears.
 
Flesh tunnels are sweeping the nation, that's for sure, but are you wondering where they originated? Obviously an African thing, right?

The history of mankind shows that tattoos were the first form of body modification and this went to piercings here, there and everywhere and places no one should have extra holes.

But, in underground societies, the next step was branding. Yep, burned in images, like a cows and idiots. I don't know about you, but I have enough body scarring, I don't require anymore.

It is predicted that someone will up the ante with amputations. Yea, thats what I want: my kid coming home from college with a couple digits missing.
" What the hell happened?" I'd ask very concerned. She'd reply with "oh, dad, it is sooo kwel. All the kids are doing it !!" At that point, I would amputate her head with my hand.

Ever wonder why some folks get their own name tattooed on themselves? I wonder that alot. I think I now know.

Imagine you and the missus getting seperated at the mall. What would you do? Stand still and eventually someone will take you to the "lost and found".

A short time later, the fella at the "L&F" comes back, my body slumped over his shoulder. He flops me onto the counter.

How many people do you suppose have kids, and tunnels in their ears???
Not too smart, aren't they? We all know how little kids like to put their fingers in our faces and pull our hair and pull on our ears.
You thinking what I'm thinking?? Yep. Some little kid puts his/her tiny fingers into the holes and YANK. A new trend has started: having two dangly pieces of skin hanging from the bottom of the ears !!!

I was looking at some of the "flesh tunnel" websites and there are kids 10-14 years old with them already. Once the hole gets to a certain size i don't think it will ever close up will it???
 
No, they won't close once they are stretched to about 12-10 guage.
 
I have seen those around for years out here, they are so common that I do not even notice them, that is with a lot of my friends that have them. They are called plugs out here, I have never heard the term "Flesh Tunnel" before.

The street scenes here in California, you can see at least one of every type of piercing, plug, branding, beading(embedding of objects under the skin), tattoos, steel mohawks, dangling from hooks in their skin, self mutilation, spilt tongues, and anything else a person can think of to inflict pain on their body and call it cool.
 
Last year we went out to california for work and we visited holly blvd, the boardwalk and various other places and yes i did see A lot of strange things. Some of the people wearing the costumes on hollywood blvd have serious genuine mental problems and they smelled very bad.
As far as there large flesh tunnels (plugs) goes, i dont see what the purpose of stretching your skin like that is. What if you want to go out to a nice restraunt for dinner, it isnt like a tatoo that you can cover up, or a peacing the you can take out.
 
I know a couple people who have the plugs and some other stretches and piercings in places I don't care to think about. I personally find them to be a bit "extreme" but hey, more power to em.

I have and like some of the other more "traditional" piercings available, so who am I to judge?
 
Yep, plugs are the more common term. I had no clue what this thread would be when I opened it. Flesh tunnels.....hmmm

I used to hang out in those popular areas, I even have friends that work at tattoo parlors there in Hollywood. Of course being around tattoo parlors and the music scene is probably the best place to be to see that stuff.

Ahhhh NO, and I have no plans on getting one EVER. I have my tongue, ears, and eyebrow pierced. Although the eyebrow is coming out pretty soon. It's doesn't suit me.
 
No not me. I am pretty clean cut kind of guy, also piercing myself there, definitely does not fit into my kind of interests.

Well i dont have any piercings or plugs or tattoos as of yet but i have been thinking on getting a tattoo. I have a friend that i did some electrical work for that owns a shop and he said if i wanted any tattoo he would do it for free as a thank you.
Now if i can find one that really appeals to me. I was thinking of getting a "AA" for when i was in the army but decided against it, would have been cool to do that one 20 years ago while i was still in there. Guess I will have to find a good tattoo site and look through all the pics till i find the right one.
 
out of all this discussion..no one ever wondered if it hurt....does it..or does it happen slowly so people dont feel it....i dont get it...why would anyone want to have a big ugly hole in their ear....people are losing their minds!

We owned a tattoo/piercing studio. Chuck has won awards @ tattooing and I have been in magazines displaying my ink. Nicolai..free is not a very good reason to get a tattoo btw. Professionalism, skill, artistic ability and proper hygiene are. It is something you should be proud to display and thought beyond something generic that any other jerk off the streets has is recommended. A military tattoo years after the fact is actually quite common and being that it is a pivotal force in many people's lives..if it is/was important to you..why not?
Ladyserpent..the slower going..the MORE it hurts. It's called dermal punching when it is done suddenly. Holes can also be stretched over time until reaching desired gauge. Chuck had zeros and they have shrunken down remarkably since he removed them. You would never know he'd had overly large holes. Not my cup of tea but for many it is, for their own reasons. It's not hurting you..why so quick to judge? I do agree noone under 18, perhaps even 21 due to growth should have large gauge holes and in fact laws here are stricter for piercing than tattooing.
Anyway its late, baby is kicking,just figured id ramble a bit.
