In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

This is the link they posted as a picture:

And I have attached it here, just in case it vanishes sometime down the road.

A lot of people do just that...some stick around after that first post, some are never heard from again. A lot of times, people ask customers to post for them as a means of helping to build a reputation.

I sure would post, if I was asked. My first train of thought was driven by tunnel vision, I guess. lol. I was just remembering setting up this acct was a hassle. I set up the acct to just get deleted because the (moderators.?) Thought I was spam. Then I had to set up another acct.

I'm not a gecko person, but that doesn't look like the mack snows that are coming up in a web search for pictures.

Mack Snow hatchlings and adults look nothing alike, hard to tell if you are not familiar with the morphs. So no worries.

That is a pretty standard looking mack snow baby.

Google Mack Snow hatchling and you can see the drastic difference between adults and babies.

Mack snow babies hatch black and white. Unless I'm seeing the color wrong, that looks brown and yellow which is not a mack snow. Probably a normal.

Here is a snow. The hatch completely black and white and the yellow comes in as they age. At that size, the baby should still have black and white.

Here is that same baby shortly after hatching (before shedding). There is just a small tint of yellow.

:iagree:

I definitely agree with Kristi. I haven't dealt with leopard geckos in many years, but I didn't think that the one pictured was a Mack Snow. Perhaps a "line bred" snow at best. A pale normal at worst. Depending on what side of the "thief/scammer" fence you sit on.

Interestingly enough when you search Strictly Reptiles website (which FLHerps has proven to be at least using as a distributor) they have several pictures of Super Snows and a picture of a line bred snow at about the same age as the OP's gecko (although it looks a lot more "Snow-y") without a single picture of a Mack Snow. Definitive evidence? No. Just an interesting anomaly.

Either way I am of the opinion that the buyer is going to be severely disappointed in what they have received.

:shrug01:

We tried to warn you.

I spoke to the owner, Sebastian Montero.

I am not at all disappointed, but I don't know much about gecko morphs so it could honestly be a different morph. Regardless, I'm happy.

You guys are a little scary... I am only trying to state my opinion on a transaction and then... all sort of detective work goes into it as if I'm some sort of criminal.

Really...All I have to say is that I had a pleasant transaction with FLherps. If nobody has anything else to ask then I will leave this site, as it seems very..unwelcoming.

The "detective work" is what keeps our community safe from scammers and thieves. If it wasn't for all of the Good Guys who selfless devote their time to tracking down information on those that they simply have a gut feeling about, people like you, that is, the people newer in the hobby, would more likely than not be out considerable amounts of money with absolutely no recourse.

It is through this "peer pressure" that we try to keep everyone on either side of the transaction honest.

The reason you were questioned so heavily is because your first post was about someone who had an active Bad Guy post about them. That is basically step one in the Scammers Handbook. I am not implying you are a scammer or affiliated with FLHerps, but try to see it from our side.

That being said, did you talk to the 12/13 year old Sebastian or did he sound a little older? Say, 50ish?

Honestly, he did seem a bit young.

I don't know if peer pressure is always a good thing.. Some people are sensitive, and if this treatment is normal on this site, then I'd rather not be here. :(
I'm not saying that I would be a valuable asset here or anything, but I will leave and my opinion on FLherps will stand.

Thank you, Giovanni ... it IS very fishy, but difficult to pin down. I'm glad you didn't get taken or scammed by this person/persons.

Obviously, they can't do face-to-face transactions because they appear to be theives, liars and scammers.

The kid on YouTube, Sebastian Montero, who is setting up a couple of 10-gallon reptile tanks and filming an FN squirrel, looks to be about 10-11 years old and being exploited (IMO) by thieving adults.

Thank you for adding credibility for those of us who want to bust this bunch.
PM me for a credible Veiled cham vendor, as I raise/keep them myself.

Yvonne, try not to be put off by this, I had a very similar experience my first time here. A lot of regular posters are suspicious of people giving good reports of sellers who have a bad reputation. One problem is that that bad sellers sometimes sign up for false accounts to try and repair their reputation, so a new member coming in to compliment a known bad guy gets looked at a bit funny.

It doesn't mean that you didn't have a good transaction and can't be happy with your purchase, and if you stay with the site and become known to the other posters, they'll back off on the suspicion.

This can be very useful for you in future transactions, because you'll be able to come on here and look up people you are thinking of buying from and save yourself a lot of pain and money by avoiding scammers.

So, stay with us, and as long as you're on the level, I'm sure you'll find it gets friendlier and more worthwhile!
