    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Buyer Beware! I purchased a Ringtail Lemur for a member named FLORIDABOY at operamail.com and he never delivered. It has been a month and he gave nothing but excuses. We finally asked for a refund and we has not delivered. BEWARE. he called himself Ron Smith, but this may be false. We will be reporting to authorities to prevent it from happening again. As for our $600. Sounded to good to be true and it was.

Floridaboy aka Ron Smith

Yes $600 was a great price and that is why were jumped at the offer. We figured the lemur was not tame or social and that we would have to work with it. In the past we have been presented with many unwanted pets and usually it is because of the animals bad habits. Those occasions are usually free to a good home deals. We are a caring pet family and our kids were crushed by the scam. They were so excited about the lemur. The good news is we purchased two brown lemurs that are incredibly tame. But a scam is a scam and the IFCC (FBI Internet crime Complaint center) emailed me on how to handle the crime. I just wanted to let the members of Faunaclassifieds to beware, and maybee save someone the hassle.

Do you know his real name or address? It's always good to know who the dirt bags are in my state. Also, since you live in FL, can't you pay him a visit and get your money back.

How did you pay? (cash, check, money order, Paypal)

First Serpentboy and now Floridaboy.....just what the hobby needed.

Im sorry for this happening to you..And i hope you get your satisfaction on this but As Chris said Serpentboy now FloridaBoy The Key Word here is "boy"These dont sound to be men just little boys trying to make it or fail In a mans world :raspberry

I have people investigating all the info needed to stop this from happening again. I will keep updates, If anyone has info feel free to share. Floridaboy is from Jacksonville, he said he has been in business for 15 years and was also trying to sell me a capuchin monkey. He deleted his profile for Faunaclassifieds and put in some bogus info. On the day he said his mother had died he had posted another animal and deleted it shortly after. He also mentioned a fennec fox. I believe he deals in reptiles also. I should not be hard to sort this out as there aren't many vets in Jacksonville who handle exotic animals.

How did you pay him or send money if you don't know his name or address?

Alot of people (including myself) post on herp forums using a pseudonym but I get a bit nervous when I see Classified Ads from people who are only willing to identify themselves by a pseudonym and are expecting people to send $600 to a "Floridaboy" without any contact info or recourse when things go bad.

I am aware of a morally corrupt business in Jacksonville that sells reptiles, exotic mammals and primates. I have no idea if they are the ones that ripped you off but I'll PM you with some info so you can look into it. I'd rather not name them in this thread because it's very possible that they have nothing to do with this.
