In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

This review is for For Pets Sake in Decatur Georgia. I felt it was reasonable to post as they do sell products for exotics as well as provide animal services. Let me know if this thread isn't up to rule standard!

Long story short, my Reticulated Python swallowed a bath towel. I rushed him to the nearest exotic vet ready to shell out as much money as I needed to to save him and get the advice I needed to improve his care.

This facility was incredible. They took me day-of despite being a new patient, and listened to my entire story. I felt guilty and helpless, feeling like I'd done something terribly wrong for this to happen. They were understanding, patient, kind, and honest through the whole process. The consultation was quick and precise, and they were transparent about the pricing and procedure from the start.

Dr. Jason Hutcheson is the man who pulled the towel from my big boy (who is somewhere between 12-15 feet). The surgery went well (with some low quality film sent to me by the vet techs) and the sutures are incredibly clean and well done. The vet was charismatic, had plenty of stories to tell of odd things he'd pulled out of snakes (an ENTIRE heat pad from a Burmese python, for example). Never once did I feel my care routine was scrutinized, and they reassured me that he was an otherwise fat, healthy, and happy chunk of snake.

The price was beyond reasonable, the staff was friendly and reassuring, and the advice to care improvements have already done wonders for my precious big boy. I would suggest this vet to ANY and ALL.

Now just to convince people my retic actually swallowed a full size bath towel... Everyone thinks it's a friken fairy tale, even with video!

Glad you have a good vet. One piece of advice, don't use bath towels around snake enclosures, lol.

Hindsight is friken 20/20! At least now it's advice that will come to mind if I ever get asked about care advice. I told this to a friend who uses towels in burm enclosures. Saved 7 snakes worth of possible trouble!
