Ok, here's the dealio. I have a stunning 07 female Platinum (or Fire) from Bob Clark. She is approximately 10' in length, and will make for awesome breeding. She has an exceptionally bold classic pattern which I hand selected (many of the Platinums have a more reduced pattern, with lots of black speckling on the yellow, but not her). She does have one scar on her side as indicated by the photo with the red arrow, but beyond that imperfection she is scale perfect. In the photos on the deck she appears slightly darker than normal, and she entered her shed cycle about a week after these shots were taken. I included another photo of her when she was a bit smaller (on the tree limb) to give an indication of how light she is. While that photo was taken about 10 months ago, she still maintains that same light 'glow' depending on how she is feeling. Her disposition is a bit unpredictable. Some days she is fine and other days she gets defensive, and has struck. She is certainly no demon, but more on the cautious side. For these photos, I took her out on my deck -free handed - without incident. But I always feel the need to be alert.
Because I purchased the animal for a pet (as opposed to for breeding purposes) I am looking for a retic that is, as I hear often, 'puppy dog' tame.
I am in love with her look and coloration, so my best case scenario would be to find something as close as possible visually (another Platty preferably). I am not interested in babies as you never quite know what you're going to end up with, and it takes time for these snakes to color up. Not to mention you don't know for sure what the disposition will be. Much more interested in a snake that is at least 1-2 years (or older).
If someone has another female Platinum with comparable patterning/coloration that is totally tame I would be open to trading. Of course you may ask why anyone would trade basically the same animal for one that has a less than perfect disposition, but I would pay additional money in addition to the trade depending on the size of your animal. Or, if you have one that is smaller and you want to save a year or so on your breeding project this might be the way to go and we could do an even swap. Bottom line is I'm open to any and all suggestions, and will trade/pay/whatever in order to end up with a beauty that I can trust for handling.
I'd also take cash ($2400 obo) but would much rather barter for another animal.
