• In case most of you have not noticed, I made changes to the donation amounts as well as the durations for all of the paid membership levels. Things are winding down here, and this seems to be the most prudent way to deal with the "end of life" period of this site.

Contributor level members - $10 per 30 days
    Sponsors - Eliminated
Benefactor level members - $25 per 30 days
Endowment level members - $50 per 30 days

On July 1, 2027, all paid memberships will be closed.

On August 1, 2027, FaunaClassifieds will be terminated.

Only change I expect that might take place is when I can get around to figuring out when the amount of money I would have to refund for the yearly paid memberships becomes less than the monthly expense of leasing my server, THAT date might be the termination date for the site.
  • Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

But if I am going to try to expand the payment options here, I want to try only a very select few. Ones that would be of most use. I don't want my private information spread out on the net any more than possible.

I know Apple Pay was brought up, but I am under the impression that I might need to have an Apple device in order to utilize that option. True or false?

My developer has quoted me a price of $200 to code the Amazon Pay interface into this platform. I am assuming that other payment portals will cost me the same. So here is the issue. Suppose I get 3 more portals coded in, that will cost me $600. What are the chances that these three will encourage 24 people to purchase $25 memberships in order for me recoup that expenditure? Based on the low number of paid memberships lately, quite honestly I am having my doubts that this would be a wise investment for me. So, 24 people have the opportunity to tell me here that I am wrong. :hehe:

Anyone want to place any wagers that not even half that number will even reply to this thread?
