In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Francesco Munoz of MOC Reptiles

Kody, this was a lesson for you. Next time you will know to pay for critters (or make a deposit if the seller specifically says he will hold with deposit) if you are very interested in an animal.
I am still concerned, and you have not replied, as to how you were able to know that positive reviews for this seller were fake. Or did you just make that up because you were upset?
and they instead had a falsified 5 star rating

I don't appreciate the implication. I've done nothing to suggest malicious intent, and yet I'm accused at every turn. I said in my second upload post, I made the review on the page. My review and the rating for the company both reflected this. In a matter of hours, my review was then removed, and there was only shown many 5-star ratings and a single 4-star. I circled where my review was previously added to the total rating, and was subsequently removed.

So you in fact have no idea whether the good rating was valid, and you simply alleged that it was falsified.

As far as, like many of you have stated, "you should have gone through with the deal if you were interested," I was doing so. I got his payment information, and I was in the process of buying the animals (responsibly), when everything occurred. This is why I posted the screenshots.

It's no wonder people are hesitant to speak up in this community.
I empathize that you did not get to purchase the critter, and I think you have learned how this all works so it won't happen next time.

But you can't just make up and post negative stuff up with no proof. You can, but people will see it for what it is and doing that reflects badly on you.
This community would say the same thing if people made stuff up about you, they would ask for proof.

One last note before I forget: Thank you, Snake-Queen, for helping me figure out how to upload these files. I'm a bit of a klutz here, since I haven't been around long.

You are welcome.

---

I see where Kody is coming from one the falsified rating, he is saying that since his review was deleted, their current 5 star rating is false.

Also, by deleting his one star rating, it is possible that the page has deleted other one star rating.

And what, exactly, would qualify as proof, in your mind? Evidence of my conversation, both if my reviews, and the subsequent scrubbing out of my role in the overall business rating apparently don't count, so what would? Nothing I do or show seems to matter, so there's not much point in continuing to get my own reputation trashed because I had a business complaint.

For further reference, you can label a thread as information, which doesn't mean they are a bad guy, but it relates your experience.

You have no idea how many time the same animal get inquiries at the exact same time within minutes of each other which means the animal is available and it comes down to who pulls the trigger first and send the payment, some people have no questions ask were to send the payment directly and some ask questions and by the time they are through they just missed the animal because the other was faster.

Sure you could tell the person since they say they are very interested that you will hold the animal but in reality many of the potential buyers saying this claiming they send the payment never do. As a seller taking someone words and telling the next person sorry the animal is on hold without a deposit usually translate as losing a sale.

As for telling people someone else is also interested as we speak it can back fire also as some people believe it is a sell/pressure tactic.

I see nothing wrong in what happened, I had it happen to me personally and some of my potential customers lost animals too within hours, it happens.

Your review stating with “Please be careful” calling it shady because someone else was faster then you was uncalled for (I would have deleted a review like this too) and now you are posting here now out of revenge because you did not get what you wanted.

Bottom line if there is one person I would avoid for business dealing it is not the person that the thread is named after but you.

As I said, getting my own reputation trashed over a business complaint is ridiculous. Don't do business with me; I don't mind. You might be doing me a favor as well.

Kody- If you had said "I'll take them" at 10:14, I would definitely agree that he had sold them out from under you. But what you actually said was "I'm absolutely interested". To the seller, that's not a sale. Herp sellers deal with tire kickers and dreamers every day, and sometimes cannot distinguish them from serious buyers until they actually see payment.
As far as people being hesitant to speak up here- I think that it really depends on how strong a case somebody has. This is a good place to identify the crooks, sure, but most of what is posted here isn't black and white. There's a lot of gray areas, and people ask a lot of questions to try to clear things up. Kind of like going to court- you have to present your evidence. Not everybody can agree with you.

Asking for further information is absolutely fine. Doing so in a civil manner, and without attacking someone's person is a separate matter.

Kody, you learned a couple valuable lessons here.....as most of us have. When posting to a public forum, you are bound to take some lumps from time to time.....and be ready to commit to a deal, even if you ask for some provisions that need to be met first...the seller is either going to agree or ask you to shop elsewhere. No offense meant, but I would have deleted your review also since there was no solid agreement made. Keep looking, you will find your critters eventually.

From what Kody had posted to me it looks like he told the seller he wanted to move forward with the sale and was in the process of working out where to send money and how much was due. In that time a matter of a few hours waiting for a response someone else snatched up the critters.

I would be upset if I were Kody. I don't know that I would leave a bad review I would just probably not do business with these folks in the future. Especially not getting an apology or anything.

Sorry to hear about this Kody. Hopefully you will find the critters you are looking for from a reputable breeder who has a little more patience and more of a background on them.
