    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hi

Anyone done business with this person? Good? Bad? Anything?


I am trying to make a deal with Francis Baines for a pair of Cuora Aurocapitata, i sent him $xxx for the reservation fee as per the terms he proposed, balance should be paid only after i receive the turtles safely.

Since he received the intitial payment, he is demanding for more payment before he can shipping the turtles, and giving excuses for not sending the detail pictures of the turtles as promised.

now, he is even refused to refund the intitial payment i had made, saying he'll consider refunding only when he get a new Buyer.

the behaviour is not like a reputable breeder as he claimed.

There is a Frances Baines (note the different spelling of the first name) associated with Baines Reptiles. She is a retired exotics veterinarian. I would think a veterinarian would know how to spell her first name.

A google search on the email address shows that it was flagged several times as a source of spam from IP address 168.63.148.158.

There are some definite red flags here...

Do you have the address of where you sent the funds, or was it through PayPal?

Seems odd to send the money to England when the user is listed as being in the US. Combined with the recent join date and lack of posts, I'd be worried.

The account here is baineseptiles, and it is registered to Francis Baines. Here is the ad to which the OP referred

i just contacted the Western union, Francis Baines picked up my 2000GBP on the 22nd of Apr 14 at Manchester UK, which is different from the address he/she given.

I noticed some website spelling her name as 'Francis', could anyone help to clarify?

I really hope it works out for the best, but all this smells bad.

one thing for sure , i wouldn't send any more $$$!! this looks like the animal scam from nigeria.. pay for animals. then need more $$ for shipping , then more $$ for vet checks, then more $$ for permits, more $$ because shipping is more , they will suck you dry.. in the end you just sent all that $$ and never see the animals.

If you paid via credit card, maybe you can get your $$ back.. if not, try getting them to send the animals if at all possible (if they exist) but better to lose what you lost now than to lose even more..

anytime payment is requested via western union, red flags should go up.

best of luck, got my fingers crossed for you that it will end in a positive way.

Textbook. Probably knows posts here aren't removed. So he thinks he's coming across as reasonable (maybe), but by asking the impossible he knows he's safe.

I feel like I've seen this picture before, and it was used for another scam. Contact axeman79, I believe that is his animal...he lives in Italy
