    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Just wondering if anyone has dealt with Fred Kick of Lockport, NY and how did the transaction go. Was interested in a couple of snakes he's selling. Thanks.
 
i have never delt with fred but i do deal with john. i have never had any issues with him. if you want to meet fred in person to poss do what ever deal you are thinking about , call or email him and have him meet you at the hamburgh pa show Fred is threre every month look at the animals in person and talk to him. that is the best thing i can tell you. A search on the BOI will yield some interesting results, definately take a look at a few postings to make a good decision.

Fred Kick

I have purchased many animals over many years from Fred at the All Ohio Swap Meet and have never had a problem. He is there almost every month and I know he attends several other monthly shows also. I even got the behind the scenes tour of their upstairs facility last year when we visited their store in New York. I was very impressed with both the upstairs and downstairs retail store. I will deal with him and his brother John again!!!

I was at a reptile show In NH and was looking at some het ball pythons. I wanted to buy them but with a guarantee they are 100%. He wanted to write me a receipt and gaurantee on a brown paper bag. I was dumbfounded to say the least. Ofcourse I didn't buy anything from him.

I purchased a Pastel Yellow Belly from this man, that was said to be born in August of 09.
I received this snake in January. The snake was sent when it was 16 degrees locally that day, He did NOT put the apartment number on the Label. (Although i called to tell him that in particular, the day before) when I got the snake from the UPS facility, rather than the friend’s house that it should have been delivered to, after 730 that evening, the animal was cold and limp, and weighed 109 grams, with a feed card claiming to have fed him 16 times. A friend of mine, virtually, breathed life back into him. Reviving him, from almost certain death. However, he still died last week. I advised Fred of the situation immediately. his response was "I'm sorry to hear about this. I once received a ball python that was almost frozen solid, and he snapped out of it within a few hours. They are very resilient snakes. Let me know how he does and if there is any problems." followed by "as long as it's made it this far, it will be fine. Keep him at 88 degrees or higher for another week or two." (This was taken directly from the emails he sent me)

His overall solution to the problem is NOT, "Let me make it right and refund your money, or give you another snake." Rather he immediately stated, "on my original paper work from our conversation, you gave me an address with no apartment number. We do not guarantee shipping on orders that are miss handled by the carrier. The snake should not be eating pinkies, it will never eat pinkies they need something with fur. I do not appreciate calls from some third party whom says he has the snake now. I can offer you some sort of discount on another order. We only guarantee live arrival, and the snake is still alive. let me know what your interested in, and ill give you a discounted price."
He expected me to purchase another snake from him, in order to make things right. In other words, he wants to sell me a second snake, at a slightly discounted price, so he gets to sales out of the deal, and pulls nothing back out of his pocket. I’m attempting to warn EVERYBODY on Kingsnake, NOT to purchase snakes from this man. He has no morals. He could care less about his customers. And clearly, he mistreats his animals, by underfeeding them. DO NOT BUY ANIMALS FROM FRED KICK!!!!!!!!
 
Donaskdonttell: do you have these emails to post here in the BOI? It is helpful to post the emails so the people of the BOI can read them. Also has Fred Kick been notified of this thread so he can respond to the allegations?
 
I do have the emails, i have every one that we have coresponded with, if they are attachable. I personally have not notified Fred of anything, i am finished with trying to make this situation right with him directly. All i can do is ensure that others dont do business with him, and get screwed the same way. If anyone wishes to notify Fred, I have NO objections.
 
Fred Kick/ Pets Plus Lockport NY

I have bought 3 snakes from them, and being semi-local (50 minutes away), I always brought my snakes right home, no shipping. I can honestly say, I have no complaints about the animals, or the service. I even have Fred's cell-phone #. That being said, there are mixed reviews that you will find on the BOI.
 
I have had mixed dealings with Fred. I am an hr and a half away. I am not a Vet but I bought a total of about 7 snakes from him. 3 spiders 50% het orange ghost, an orange ghost, a cinnamon, a female yellow belly, and a pastel orange ghost. now This is not meant as an accusation. out of the first 2 spiders I bought 1 iwas doing great the other died about a month later I contacted fred and he gave me a discount on a 3rd. While I was there the second time I picked up the rest of the ones mentioned above. My third spider het orange ghost died as well as the orange ghost and pastel orange ghost. I now have the cinnamon which is great, the female yellow belly which is great and the cinnamon which is great. I dont know if its his orange ghosts or what?????? But I know I am pissed that 3 of my snakes I got died including the super beautiful pastel orange ghost. But happy the other three are doing great and chunking up nicely.
