In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Good afternoon to all,

Recently while watching a clip of snakebytes.TV I saw that BHB keeps his Retics in the 66" FB's so I am wondering if there are others that keep there large constrictors in them and I'd like to know some pros and cons to it. Also when the females lay eggs do they ever interfere with the sliding out of the bin. I have been a retic keeper/breeder for 15 years and Have always lived under the idea that big snakes need big cages but Like BHB says, they never use the entire cage especially Retics... Another Question about this is were do you soak your retics? In the FB's or do you pull them out separately and soak them in some other enclosure? Sliding that tray out with a few gallons of water looks like it could be messy... Are the clear inserts water proof or will they leak water when filled??

Well, I think that's a good start and I look forward to hearing your opinions.

I tend to agree with your statement that big snakes need big cages regardless of how much of the space they usually occupy. Freedom Breeder makes the best enclosures for keepers with large collections and for a lot of species, but retic and burms need cages imo.

When you think about where they live in the wild and the fact that they spend most of their time in places smaller then a freedom breeder gives them it makes you wonder what the appropriate size breeding bin is. I Have 11 female retics and 6 males along with 40+ boas and another 40+ball pythons. I breed the retics and sell the babies to wholesalers along with private collectors. I am always looking for a better way to streamline the way I have to do things and the BHB solution looks Good to me.. I have my own cons about it but I am really hoping that a large constrictor keeper sees this and offers their opinion up...
