In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I have been doing some research on getting a new rack and am really leaning towards Freedom Breeders. I have called and talked to Jeff and he seems like an easy guy to work with.

I live in SD so I have to have most things shipped to me. I am hoping that other folks here can comment on how their expeirence went with having a rack shipped to them. Any issues with shipping? If so was it handled well with Freedom Breeders?

How were the quality of the racks you received?

Also since this is such a large item, how was the delivery made? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

These racks are made from square tubed steel and fully assembled when shipped and wrapped in plastic on pallet.

Ive yet to hear of one being damaged

Hi Guys -

I just bought two rat racks, a mouse rack, and a reptile rack and had them shipped to me in Oklahoma. They arrived in perfect condition. They were plastic wrapped on pallets with all the parts and pieces securely packaged within the shipment. Assembly was very easy for the bases, wheels, heating system, etc. These guys are professionals and their reputation (and money) are on the line if they did anything shoddy. I have used other systems over the years and I think the "new" Freedom Breeder design racks are the best out there.

I've never had them shipped but own 2 racks from them and they are great.

A friend of mine recently shipped in a couple of their racks with no problem.

I just had the 1010 rack shipped to me yesterday and UPS did a job on it. 3 levels were damaged to the point where one weld was snapped. Jeff at Freedom Breeder was great when I spoke to them, but UPS not so much. You can no longer report damage to the driver ever if it's obvious. You have to call and file a claim and put it back in the original box as it was, and they'll come pick it up to start an 'Investigation'. Having vented. the remaining levels of the rack are fine and I also have a rodent rack that came on a pallet that was not damaged that works perfectly.

Jeff and Lindy have always been nice when I spoke to them and did not rush me at all, even when complaining about the damage. I would not hesitate to buy from them again if the need came up.

I am looking at the 1010 rack. It is a bit more than I need currently but will have the room for expanding later on down the road.

Freedom Breeder racks are the best out there IMO. Jeff and Lindy are great to work back and would definitely be easy to work with even if something happened to go wrong (which I couldn't imagine happening). These racks are EXTREMELY heavy duty and I now use them exclusively for my snake racks. They will last a lifetime and are a worthy investment.

I have 100% confidence in Freedom Breeder and would/have recommend doing business with them.

Thank you for the feedback. From what I am reading here these come mostly already assembled. I will be putting this in my basement. I am assuming with a steel frame these will have some weight with them. Would two people be able to move this in?

You can move it yourself a level at a time.

You could also check into ARS racks. Another high end rack that is built similarly. Great customer service from them as well. They're a little bit more expensive, but it comes with a power strip to plug in each of the levels as well as a thermostat.

Brian ( the owner ) is good people too. Don't think you would go wrong with either of them. Having both, the ARS do feel a bit more solid, though the FB are not going to bend on you either. :)

I have freedom breeder rodent holding bin, rat breeding rack and mouse rack, also have a hatchling rack. I love there's racks I have been through every rack person and fb is the best

I have a couple questions about FB racks that I didn't see answers too on their website. Do they offer a warranty? Also can you purchase additional levels to their racks? Like say I get a used rack but it only has half the levels that it shows on the website. Can I purchase additional levels from them to add to it?

fb racks

Bought the BP 10 tub rack back in June. Arrived OK on two wood flats. Only problem encountered was attaching the supplied hardware to the casters.
Had to buy new hardware because a round bolt doesn't go into a square opening despite some help from Jeff to the contrary. Only thing going on now is one tub holder guide is loosening. Wrote to FB to see if I can fix this on my end with some kind of adhesive. Rack is heavy duty and mostly welded parts.

Got a ARS rack recently ( mid tub size with 5 levels and casters ) and just ordered 2 more levels for hatchlings which will go on top of these. You can mix levels within guide lines given. Planning on adding some BP levels for the bottom, in the future, which will require a specialty level to accommodate the size width differential. The ARS is superior in appearance and ease of removing levels. They're both very heavy and well constructed. Maybe one day someone will use NASA technology and make the whole unit much lighter and cheaper in the next year or so?
