    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

From 34 grams to 60 grams in 6 weeks :)

I was noticing how well one of my rescues was doing the other day, and when I weighed her and looked back at the photos from when I first got her, I was amazed at the difference. She just shed, and her colors are so much brighter than before. I can't believe her weight has almost doubled, but I don't think her length has.
Here she is about a week after I got her. The lighting was bad, so there's a pinkish hue that shouldn't be there, but you can see she's thin and pale.

She was blind when I got her, but now she can detect light a bit. Maybe with time she will someday be able to catch her own food
This is the one that came in with her, she was in better shape to start with:

And I just call this one Number Five. That pattern on her head looks almost stenciled on!

She's always soaking that looooong purple tail. Maybe all the water helped it to grow!

Aaawwwww, they are all SO cute! I love that pic of the one soaking its tail! The rescued one looks SO much better to, you can really tell the difference! You must be proud. :)

Thanks everyone for your supportive comments. I think in many ways, I was just very lucky. Kismet loves to eat, and there were no really complex underlying issues, just neglect. It is rewarding to see her blossom like that, but I still feel sad knowing that her eyesight was lost unnecessarily.
